Want to have a GREAT time with great people and staff on a NEW ship? This is the cruise for you! Ours was a 7 night cruise to the Western Caribbean in December 2003 - the 5th voyage of this ship. Stateroom Attendant very helpful and called us by name as - AS - we entered our room during boarding! Dining - seated dining is the best. Waiter and assistant waiter knew just what we wanted as soon as we walked to the table. Our beverages were waiting! Was able to "special" order a meal provided about a days notice was given. Most often heard reply to our requests was "my pleasure sir (or madam)" from all the staff. Captian Johnny was personable and didn`t mind answering any questions we had. Biggest gripe I have? The casino slots were too tight! Second gripe? The golf simulator wasn`t working on our cruise. Other than that I can think of nothing else but accolades for the ship and it`s staff. The excursions were wonderful (but some were a bit pricey). This was our 3rd cruise with RCCL and the best so far. Had one cruise on NCL - wasn`t good. Doesn`t even come close to any of the cruises we`ve had on RCCL. For the best food, service, ship and total value you need to cruise on the Mariner. If only once. Next for us is the Panama Canal cruise! Or, maybe Hawaii!
