Review summary

We went at Christmas for 11 nights and the ship was decorated beautifully. The Promenade Area makes you feel as if you were in a fall with the different shops and the cafes/bars. The Mariner of the Seas is the biggest ship we've ever been on as well as the nicest. It was our 5th cruise and first on Royal Caribbean. We would do it again. There are a variety of activities on board to choose from whether you want to climb the wall, ice skate, inline skate, shoot basketball, play min-golf, or play cards and board games in Seven Hearts. When in port it is a breeze to get on and off the ship. The service and cleanliness was suprisingly superior, with over 3,500 passengers on board during our cruise. The food is very good and the cabin was the largest we have ever stayed in. Even bigger than Celebrity, Holland America, and NCL. The shows were not bad, but the singers could have been better. Make sure you go to an Ice Show. It's truely amazing how the skaters do the stunts on a moving ship at sea. The pool area is very nice and the bars have good affordable prices. (for a cruise ship) Embarkation only took 20 minutes and we were on board. Getting off was even easier. We walked right off, picked up our baggage, and went to get the car in the garage. I would recommend Mariner of the Seas and Royal Caribbean to anyone of any age!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was awesome. Make sure you have time to eat one night in Chop Grille or Portofino. Be sure to make a reservation. Also try the Jade, Asian buffet, and the Windjammer. Aslo open 27/7 is the Cafe Promenade serving pizza, sandwiches, desserts, and coffee.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
If you want to be entertained with activities you need to go on the Mariner of the Seas. Plenty to do! The show in the evenings were not bad, good costumes, and good themes.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
The facilities for the kids programs or "Adventure Ocean," as Royal Caribbean calls it were plentiful. The schedule just wasn't that good and not that much variety of kids activities in kids club.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was very willing to help and always in a good mood and attitude to work.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Although the ship was huge it was not crowed. The ship is in great ship, and the decor is nice. The Mariner of the Seas was suprisingly very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The largest statroom ever had and was in good condition. The matress wasn't as good as others had, but still very nice.

Pros: The service, food, the ship it was awesome

Cons: No Complaints
