Mardi Gras is a very nice, albeit large, ship. Don't miss the comedy clubs.

Excellent Trip by preciouser2013

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Yudha our service representative took great care of us. He ensured our cabin was clean daily, provided us extra towels whenever we needed. He even reminded us a few times as we were leaving for dinner to bring our room key. He was excellent, always present and always working, yet still stopped to give us a smile and a warm greeting every time he saw us day or night.

Amazing by jaelalroberts

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Cruise was amazing. Everyone made the best out of the COVID pandemic. Some ports were changed that bummed us out but they still made it a great time for us all onboard.

An exceptionally nice cruise. by teayers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our ship was over 4 hours leaving Port Canaveral. It was being briefed throughout the intercom that the delay was based on refueling of the natural gas to the ship. This delayed arrival into Cozumel by 2 hours. I'm not sure why the natural gas refueling was taking so long or if this is a design flaw from when the ship was designed and built. Once this was behind us then the rest of the cruise was really good. It did however prevent being able to take beginning photos as we were departing port for the first time on this cruise as it was dark.

Finally bac cruising. Hooray. by ronecker08

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I had 3cancellations on the ship before I finally sailed on the Mari Gras,,which I know was not your fault. I liked the restaurants, and the entertainment, disliked the room, way to small. Hard to get to balcony when there are two twin beds. Bathrooms also very small. My phone was to old to get the menus and had to rely on someone else. Never was able to have room service could not get menu . I am not sure if I would ever go back on the ship. You should big chicken sauces on the ship they were really good.

Great by zglez72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Beautiful cruise but not fun at all except if you want to expect day gambling and play trivia...Havana band Mambo Magic excellent, play good music and keep cruise energy as Bartneders as well. Center Stage Band do good tooo.. Food is good but small portion but taste good. Inside store overpricing...

Cruise Was Great, Booking Through American Airlines Not So Much by ronbonner

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Chief complaint would be with American Airline Cruises advertising which is VERY MISLEADING in my opinion. When issue was brought to their attention was essentially blown off. Book elsewhere would be my advice. I will not be booking any future cruises through .

cruise 2021 by Tami1977

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

After the refusal to help my wife in any way, I will no longer be cruising Carnival. They asked if we required assistance and I said yes and then they couldn't provide it. Way to drop the ball!

Love Love Love this ship! by DavenBrandyExns

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 1st cruise after the shutdown and it was so great to be back!! In all honesty we were not sure if we would like this ship since we love the smaller ships..but she may look big but she still has that Carnival Cruise Line feel and this ship has some awesome features and places to hang out at. Our absolute favorite hangout was at Summer Landing with the chairs that are in the pool with a cold beer. That was our happy place.

It’s a big ship, but a beautiful big ship & well designed. I would love to go back on it again in the future. Looking forward to its sister ship the Celebration.

Beautiful Ship, yet wouldn’t Sail Again by JMNC2019

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My summary: If this ship is an indication of the direction Carnival is going, it’s sad. It feels like Carnival is trying desperately to be RCCL and is abandoning everything that made it our preferred cruiseline. The ship isn’t practical, everything feels like money grab, the designs feel sterile, like any apartment complex or mall. I actually preferred the unpredictable whimsy of the Farcusan aesthetic. This just feels like a watered down attempt by Carnival to be something it isn’t and a betrayal of the loyal guests who have kept its ships afloat. If you are a smoker, as many Carnival guests are—you will be treated like a 2nd class citizen and banished to the far corners of the ship. Meanwhile, you will walk by the the “non-smoking areas” and they sit nearly empty, looking sad and depressing. The ONLY reason I would recommend this ship is if you want the bragging rights of riding the first coaster at sea. However, that is $15 for a 30 second experience, and IMO is hardly worth the endless hassle of the entire experience on this ship. I expect Celebration and future XL class ships to be the same. I hope Christine Duffy will soon see that the fun is being quickly taken out of the “fun ships”.
