We had a great time and look forward to sailing Mardi Gras again!

The cruise itself was amazing. The "Fun Staff" were just that "fun". I feel that since the name of the ship is Mardi Gras, More of the French/cajun "Bon temps roulet" should/could have been portrayed more. Maybe having a low country boil at some point during the cruise and MORE Karaoke times.... the times given were all during times of other events.

My cruise was my 3rd and the 1st for our sister.It was great to experience her first cruise with family.The mardi gras is a huge,beautiful ship.For a ship this size it is clean and well maintaned, I saw staff constantly cleaning, restocking,replenshing,providing help and support.

The ship is beautiful & the entertainment is excellent. The main dining room was a disappointment the 2xs we did eat there. The specialty restaurants were great. Loved our cove balcony. All in all It was a good trip, but Vista is still my favorite ship.

We had fun. Experienced a large cruise ship. It’s really safe for families with kids. They have very high plexiglass so it would be difficult to fall off. All in all I’m glad we went but wouldn’t do it again unless we took grandkids. Casino is huge. We never saw the entire ship it’s very large. We did a lot of walking and stair climbing. I wish they would add some staff.

I thought Carnival’s Mardi Gras was a wildly interesting ship, but I was disappointed by how the Carnival Corporation operates the vessel. At the time of sailing, Mardi Gras was only a year old and starting to fall apart. The pool deck had scuffs and tears everywhere. Stairs were loose and shook. I even saw children slip and fall. The toilet paper holders were loose in the bathrooms, and the rails in the elevators were hanging and moved when someone leaned against them. I was mainly just baffled that Carnival is willing to spend billions on new ships, but not willing to invest in maintaining their ship. The food was adequate, but getting it was less consistent than I would have hoped. The productions were fun, but didn’t align with my personal preferences. Overall, I absolutely loved the ship but really disliked how carnival operates it, and I’m hopeful that the further we get from the shutdown, the more willing carnival will be to pay to maintain their ships, because if Carnival embraces just how impressive a ship they’ve designed, they’ll really have something special on their hands. With the way they’re operating this vessel currently though, it’s just not there yet.

I think I was too hyped about the Mardi Gras. I expected more for how much this ship had been talked about. With over 6000 people on board, it was just too crowded for me. Would have loved to see more entertainment that was good. On sea days there was nothing to do but the pool. Elevators (too little). Everywhere was beautiful that we went too. We met a lot of new faces and really nice people. I think I will stick to smaller boats. I did come home with flu and some of friends did get it to from ship.

I’m not gonna sail on the Mardi Gras again until they change cruise directors. It really important to me that I like my cruise director.

We always have a good time and go with the flow. It was week of Labor Day, so most kids were back in school. Carnival is the FunShip for a reason.

Great cruise and can't wait for the next one. Entertainment was good on the ship. The only thing I wish had been different are the movies. They are on a super hero kick and that was all they showed every night. Maybe mix it up with a super hero movie one night, then a comedy, or drama, or musical other nights. And of course pirates of the caribbean are always a good choice. Lol

Overall we had a fun cruise. This was my first cruise on one of the Excel class so it was certainly different from the other 7 ships I have sailed on. We had a wonderful time in the Karaoke with Shy who is just awesome. He was friendly and a lot of fun and entertaining. Enjoyed all activities that he was in charge of.

Overall we had a great time. We have very busy lives on a daily basis. We cruise to escape the busyness of day to day life. We don’t do internet or larger groups of people we prefer peace and quiet so we stay in those types of areas and just enjoy being with each other. We have been married 49 years and it works for us!

We splurged and took advantage of a Loft 19 Cabana for the week - absolute best cruising experience in almost 20 cruises. Phenomenal job Carnival.

While I only really got to experience a few days on Mardi Gras due to me getting sick and sleeping the rest of my vacation away, the days I did were so much fun. I definitely would like to do it again to get the full week experience.

It was a very enjoyable cruise, but some of the negatives like the elevators, public bathrooms, and buffet were a bit of a turn-off. Carnival is definitely more of a party boat, and if this is what you're looking for, then it's the cruise for you. Although we had fun, we won't be cruising Carnival in the future. We much more prefer Royal Caribbean, our opinion.

Wonderful memory with our kids. Great ship for a family of different ages and interests!

My first cruise but it wont be my last! I met people that told me I have ruined it for future cruises as this one was one of the best! They did not misinform me!

Wonderful time minus the small issues. But we much rather the smaller ships.

It’s a great ship, bright and clean and bursting with life. I’m glad we got to go on it but, surprisingly, it’s not our favorite ship. As others have commented, it was just too big. We think the Vista was our favorite and our next cruise next year will be on the Vista so we can confirm that.
