We had a great time. This our first time on the Mardi Gras but wont be our last! Loved the sip and all that she has to offer. The staff did an excellent job throughout the cruise.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty easy. Although I had parked on the 3rd floor hoping to use the walkway over to the terminal. But instead the procedure now is start on the first floor and then walk up from there. But that was a very minor inconvenience. The process was easy and took abut 30 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We only dined in specialty restaurants. Each was very good. Rudy's is fantastic. The service is great, and the food delicious! We ate outside, it was a beautiful night, and really enjoyed that experience. Cucina Del Capitano was really good. Service was a bit slow, but they were very busy. Chibang was also very good. The service was outstanding. Not my wife's favorite but she still enjoyed it. Guys Pig and Anchor offered a great selection of BBQ. The Brisket was very good and the shortribs, the special the night we ate there, was excellent! Be cautioned the Pig and Anchor can get very loud. It is a popular hang out and they sometime have a band. We also ate at Big Chicken and Guys Burgers. Both are very good and are above average "fast food" locations on the ship!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There are many activities and always something to do. We had fun riding the Bolt. Wish the ride would be a little longer! Will likely ride it again, maybe at sea next time! The Backyard band was terrific. Played covers of many rock classics and did a few specialty sets such as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Stevie Wonder. Found ourselves following them around the ship several nights. Also Center stage is great! What a great idea! The casino is soooooo much better on this ship. Loved the fact that one side is smoke free. Makes for a much more enjoyable experience. This is only possible due to the size of the Casino which is huge!
Entertainment

Backyard Band is great don't miss them play! Also there is a Violin trio that is very good. Family Feud is very fun!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was terrific throughout the ship. Our room steward did a great job and was always available when needed! We had some laundry done while on the ship and it was picked up and brought back to the room the next day!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This ship is huge. We heard that a lot while wandering around the ship. The ship was not sailing at full capacity. Some of the venues are smaller and this may cause an issue when the ship is at full capacity. However there is so much going on it may only be an issue for some of the most popular shows.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The bathroom is small. Loved the new glass door in the shower. This cabin has an obstructed view of the ocean. The roof of the outdoor dining (Rudy's I think) is just below. So that obstructs the view when looking down from the balcony. But is only limited to that, otherwise when at sea there is a clear view looking out at the ocean. The room is small but that was to be expected. There is plenty of storage and a small fridge.
Ship tip
Two things 1. Go to your muster station when you get on the ship. The safety briefing is very short and that way you want get caught up in the last minute rush before sail away. And 2. take a few minutes and wander the ship. It is really big! And not everything is laid out the same as other older ships. Like the Fun shops are on several different floors and not all together. And the coffee shop is now right in the middle of the ship and not tucked away. And one extra tip HAVE FUN! your on a cruise!
I always have a really good time in Cozumel. we just wander around downtown and visit as many shops as we can. Be aware if you have never been the folks working in the shops will definitely try to get you to come visit. They will offer shot of tequila or cerveza. But they will hound you. normally will move on to the next person if you politely decline.
Really liked the port area and the lay out of the shops. Mahahual, the small town nearby is nice. But the vendors are even more aggressive than Cozumel. It was a bit rainy the day we visited so did not get to enjoy the beach area. But it looked beautiful!
We really like this port. Went to the small beach area at the port. Had a very relaxing nice day. FYI if you are not early to the beach you may not have the best view. There a several rows of chairs and "clam shells". And only so many can be front beach.
