Overall, we did love the Mardi Gras and their staff. We would love to sail again and bring some family and/or friends along to enjoy the experience. I just hope Andy and Georgia are there as well!
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Embarkation took a little longer than we are used to. It has never taken over an hour to board any cruise ship no matter the line we have gone on. Having college football on the TV made it a little more bearable.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The main dining room food was good, but service in our area was extremely slow. One night we didn’t get our appetizers at all and got our entrees after 45 minutes. We loved Rudi’s Seagrill and Chibang. We also loved Street Eats and Big Chicken. We were disappointed with Pig & Anchor because the food lacked flavor and was slapped on the trays like slop.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Loved the onboard activities. There are plenty of pools and hot tubs throughout the ship.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Loved the entertainment and can’t complain of being bored or having nothing to do. My husband won $150 on Deal or No Deal, so that was nice. The addition of the Family Feud show is nice! I miss the Quest activity, but I think COVID took that away. The musicians and DJ’s were amazing. The stage shows weren’t our favorites at times. The singing felt forced and didn’t sound the best at times. Choreography was nice.
Children's Programs
Did not have children with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were all kind and helpful in whatever way they could be. Our room steward Ahmad was very attentive to our needs. Our other favorite staff were Andy and Georgia. After Deal or No Deal, whenever Georgia would see us around the ship, she’d always speak to my husband and I. It made us feel special that she remembered our names and faces and would speak every time.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
At first the ship is confusing to understand, but by day 2-3 we got the hang of it. Even if lost, there are plenty of maps and staff around to point you in the right direction.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin is small. We weren’t expecting to walk into the room and immediately hit our bed. The bathroom feels claustrophobic. Everything is right on top of each other. We did love our balcony though.
Ship tip
Make sure to try the crystal ball drink at the Fortune Teller bar.
