This was a back to back. Eastern on 9/18 and Western on 9/25. We thought we'd eat at every specialty restaurant during the 14 days. That didn't happen. The Pig & Anchor was our favorite. We ate in the dining room twice and even skipped dinner a few nights to have snacks around the ship.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
The lines were long and the process was slow. There was NO priority boarding, which was understood before we left home.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was good, but didn't have the wow factor we were accustomed to. We understand, the staff is getting their groove back.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The roller coaster was new and exciting. Most of the other activities were typical.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The stage shows were excellent, but did repeat. I'm sure at full passenger that would be necessary.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The crew is all happy to be back to work and it shows in their attitude and service.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
It's a beautiful new ship, however the layout is like no other we've ever sailed on.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We cruise 12+ times a year. We book an interior cabin for a variety of reasons, price, quiet, etc. This was a very small space, yet functional. There was much less drawer space, but equal closet space. The bathrooms are very small, but very beautiful with glass doors.
Ship tip
Please look at the big picture when you book your cabin. If you expect privacy on your balcony - look very close at what's above and below. One smoking area is deck 8 and we could see inside the balcony cabins on deck 9.
We were scheduled to meet and exit the ship with other diamond members at 8:30. At 8:00 the cruise director called our luggage tag, and we walked directly off the ship. Facial recognition software made disembarkation go very quickly. We found a porter who picked up our bags and took us directly to the shuttle bus we needed. We were in our car by 8:45 AM.
