Fantastic Ports/Ship was just okay...

Room Type: Oceanview

Yes, I would recommend the ship but with reservations! Don't go on expecting the same amenities you will find on the larger ships. The entertainment is not nearly as glitzy as the larger ships. The food is okay, but pales in comparison. The staterooms are smaller than those on the larger ships. On the upside, the service is fantastic, and because of the size, you can actually get to know your fellow cruisers. The staff do a very good job of letting you know about the ports you will be visiting before you get there and there is not a big "pre-selling job" of on shore shops that often seems to be present on the larger ships.

Pros: Ports of call (Buenos Aires, Rio); service

Cons: Ship is aging and showing it, food was poor.

Recommends Marco Polo (RETIRED)? Yes!

Food and Dining
Canned fruit on a cruise ship? Yup. On this one anyway....
Ship Quality
The ship is showing her age, but the layout is easy to learn on your first day on board. Staff are always cleaning and the ship is spotless---but the materials in the showroom, for instance, are very dated and worn. You really can't clean that away....
Cabin / Stateroom
Small but adequate.
Entertainment
The production singers were of karaoke quality.... Comedian and magician were quite good.
Children's Programs
None to speak of, but the cruisers on this ship tend to be older so if you want to avoid kids, this is a good choice.
Service and Staff
Absolutely fantastic!
