Review summary

Will never board another Royal Caribbean ship again even if it was free. It appears to be a problem from the top down. Makes me wonder who holds the staff accountable.

Embarkation was relatively smooth but crowded.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Had a problem from day one. Seating in the main dining room was an issue for me and many other guests. Never sat at the same table twice. Food in the main dining room was hit or miss. Food at the buffet was the same just about everyday and was of low quality. You could eat better at any restaurant in America. Very disappointing dining experience.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pool and whirlpool were always crowded. If you didn’t get a chair by 10:00 you didn’t have one all day and part of the evening.

2 out of 5
The only show we attempted to attend was canceled with no notice. We did play bingo but it cost an average of $50-$70 and out of about 120 players the games only paid out $300-$500. Very blatant attempt to get your money. Also the electronic pads that were being used were not charged and about twenty people had to finish their games while the staff recharged the pads. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Room steward (Martin) did a great job. Other than that was treated very rudely by Guest Services, Dining Room and by staff at disembarkation.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Very small and the mattresses were uncomfortable.

Ship tip

Find another ship on another cruise line. Even people I talked to that had cruised on other Royal Caribbean ships agreed that Majesty of the Seas was the worst in the fleet.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana Did not visit port

Key West, Florida

We got off the ship and walked around to shop. Like most ports of call, cheap stuff at expensive prices. Plus, docking at the navy base made getting into town awkward.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Best part of the trip

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Was canceled due to weather

Never have I been treated as rude as I was by the staff at disembarkation. Royal Caribbean needs to retrain their entire staff covering guest relations and service.
