Review summary

Overall, it was a great cruise, and we had a blast as always! Dont let the age of this ship deterr you, unless you're expecting everything to be 100% perfect and new. This is a 27 year old vessel, while she doesn't show her age as bad as Empress does, you cannot expect Quantum or Oasis level perfection! As an extra Point of Information, Account information is not currently available on Stateroom TV's, and Voicemail does not work in approximately 30% of the rooms. According to one of the 2nd officers, this is set to be upgraded during the Majesty's next drydock overhaul.

Embarkation

Being that we had a suite, we arrived to the port at 1045hrs, and breezed through check-in, and arrived at the Suites waiting area by 1050hrs. I had just enough time to grab a sandwich from the complimentary food table, when we were called to board!

Food and Dining

We ate everywhere EXCEPT Chef's Table. The food was excellent in the Main Dining Room, Sorrentos, Compass deli, and Johnny Rockets. The food at Cafe Latte-tudes was lackluster at best, and the food in the windjammer was not very good at all. We sailed on Empress 14 months ago, and the Windjammer was so good, we contemplated canceling our MDR reservations. I was expecting much more from the Windjammer on Majesty

Main Dining Room

Roseann and Oleksandra make a fantastic team. The food was absolutely incredible(as I have always found in RCCL MDR's)

Schooner Bar

Viking Crown Lounge

I wish every RCCL ship still had the Viking Crown Lounge. Nice quiet place to take a break from the rush. Would be even better if the bar was open with better hours

Windjammer Marketplace

Service was great. The food was another story. Being a small ship, we were expecting a much better quality and variety of food, as you would find on the Empress of the Seas. This was not the case.

Onboard Activities

We had a fantastic time at all of the shows, and especially at the "Quest" gameshow, even if there was a giant hole torn in my shorts during the show O_O

Casino Royale

Pretty nice, but could stand to have 8-10 slot machines removed, to allow for more room around the table games.

Guest Services and Explorations!

Cristobal in guest services was very helpful when we had a problem with an excursion, and after we had been essentially blown off by the ShoreEx desk. Between his efforts, and the efforts of Pablo in ShoreEx, we were refunded 40% of our excursion cost due to the extreme inconvenience we faced

There seemed to be 3-4 different live bands onboard. 3 of which were amazing. the 4th? not so much. Having been spoiled on Allure in 2017 with Matt Ganim(The Piano Man) I found the piano performer in the Schooner bar to be "meh" at best

Our Stateroom attendant seemed to be absent. In our previous 4 cruises, we seemed to see our room attendant multiple times per day, and they really seemed to go the extra mile for us. We take pride in learning about our attendant, and where they are from. On this cruise, we only saw her on the 1st day, and 2 or 3 times in passing in the hallways. I dont know if it is because this was our first time in a suite that caused this difference, but we were definately unhappy with Her performance. However, the reason I gave this section 4 stars, instead of 2, was our wait staff in the Main Dining Room. Roseann, and her assistant Oleksandra. We were overwhelmed at the level of service they provided.

Ship Quality

For it's age the ship really didnt seem to show much in terms of wear and tear. However, I can see WHY they got away from designing ships in this fashion

Cabin / Stateroom

Room was a VERY comfortable size, which we expected in a Junior Suite. However, compared to a Balcony room on a Oasis ship, the room was very comparable in size. 3-4 medium sized people could be VERY comfortable in one of these rooms Room was very clean, and in good repair, bathroom was refreshingly sizable, but the water pressure was ok at best.

Ship tip

Bars and Towel stations on the pool deck close at 9PM!!! We attempted to watch a soccer game on the big screen from the hottubs, but were foiled by having to go downstairs for drinks and no towels!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Always an excellent departure point! Many registration counters to allow check-in to be a breeze! Get there early to beat the lines!

Cozumel, Mexico

Shopped a bit, and then parked ourselves at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. many chairs/picnic tables in the sand, and water acces for a quick swim if you feel the need!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

This was our 2nd time here, and it was even worse than our first. RCCL and their excursion providers need to get themselves on the same time(Literally) You have Ship's time drummed into you, while the tour providers are running on local time, and always manage to be late or screw up the timeframes.

Disembarkation

Always an easy departure at Ft Lauderdale! We only stood in line for about 20 min to get through the TSA checkpoint
