I am an experienced cruiser, this cruise was a disappointment. I will not cruise on this ship ever again.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Not much variety in the way of free soft drinks. Usually I see lemonade and ice tea. This cruise only had one option. It seemed like the windjammer had the same food everyday.
Whose idea was it to have people smoke on the running track? It’s very unpleasant to try to run through clouds of cigarette smoke!
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
The slide is for small children. The rock climbing wall was closed more often than open. Not much to do compared to other cruises I’ve done. The teen club didn’t hAve many activities during the day. Activities seemed to happen during dinner or very late at night. My teen daughter was disappointed.
Entertainment

Pools kept getting shut down due to people puking in the pool. Teens and small kids in the hot tub you couldn’t ever get in it.
Children's Programs

My teen was disappointed. There wasn’t much to do. We have done 10+ cruises but this was the worse for kids activities
Service and Staff

Some staff were great some could care less.
Ship Quality

Toilet was backed up on our floor so the hallway smelled like sewage. I kept waking up to bug bites as well as other adults on the ship. Staff members didn’t seem to care.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin steward was very nice but the cabin was run down. Bathroom light dint work, shelf was cracked. Woke up with bug bites. After for days I was covered in bites
Excursions were canceled due to weather. The beach was littered with bottle caps and straws. We spent our time walking up and down the beach picking up garbage, it made me sad to see straws all over the place.
Thanks mikieandreotti - I would think they would treat it since bed bugs are such a huge issue in the travel industry, but I will definitely check our bed carefully when we get there.
I reported to the cruise line 2 days ago. They gave us 20% of our next cruise and they just told us to make sure we keep our bags out of the house. They didn't say if they would treat it or now
I’ve been reading up on bed bugs. Nasty critters. Hard to get rid of and not bring home. Very expensive if you bring them home. Someone used rubbing alcohol sprayed on the mattress to kill them. It is Suggested you pull off the bedding & check the mattress for evidence even before you settle in your room. Keep luggage outside in case. Do a Google search before cruising. Apparently the bugs also get transferred between suitcases in baggage claim.
I cruised on the majesty on march 26th and I also had big bites. I thought maybe it was something else but I went to my doctor after the cruised and he verified that they were bed bug bites. Still a very nice cruise. However maybe a big problem?
Ijackson921. I am glad you added more details to why you were so unhappy and honestly the details help because I am now going to purchase a blue light to take with me to scan for bed bugs. You spent a lot of money on your vacation and it sucks that it wasn’t up to par. Give it another try maybe it was just the wrong time of the year. I’ve read so many bad reviews over the past two weeks ‘spring breaker’ over crowded ports, aggressive markets etc. I hope your next cruise is better.
Why is everyone attacking this person? Just because their profile isn’t completed doesn’t mean they are an imposter. Is it really that hard to either scroll by and ignore or be kind? Thank you for your review. I’m sorry your experience was so poor. Hopefully RCC handles these issues. I’ve actually heard from other cruisers I know that they received big bites at night in their beds on that cruise. I love RCC but that doesn’t mean they are incident free. This review seems legitimate to me.
Interesting. I don’t see any cruises logged under your profile. So, when did you cruise and where did you cruise to? What was so disappointing that you will not cruise on RC again. Your statement is as you know is lacking viable details.
