Mixed experience

After our initial cruise was canceled 2 weeks before sailing, we booked this cruise only because we had no other options. Mixed experience on this cruise. Kudos to the Cruise Director and staff for their attention to detail and continuous enthusiasm.  High praise also for our wait staff Ritchell and Aleksandr. We were less than enthusiastic about staff at the main desk; the information they provided about our ports of call were often erroneous or incomplete. Our stateroom was not cleaned well. We found hair in 2 drawers, and actually cleaned portions of the shower ourselves. The entire ship could certainly use a facelift. Windows were boarded up, there was masking tape on the bars, etc. Most of the shows were quite good, with the exception being the last night. The comments we heard from audience members leaving the theatre likened it to a high school production. I have been on several cruises with other cruise lines before. This was my first cruise with Royal Caribbean, and quite honestly,  may be my last.

Cabin / Stateroom
The shower was dirty. We found hair in several drawers.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Disembarkation at Cococay was horrific.
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
Onboard Activities
Entertainment
Comedians were great; final show appeared quite amateur.
Service and Staff
Cruise Director and staff were fabulous! Housekeeping was mediocre. Personnel at the Cruise Relations desk gave erroneous/incomplete information about ports of call.
Food and Dining
Great staff. Food was good, but not great.

Tip

The ship needs a major complete overhaul. Circulation was poor.
