Disappointing after Free-Style cruising on Norweigian

Sail Date: December 28, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

Pros: excellent service, nice ship, good itinerary, larger island (Cococay) than other cruise lines

- Non-booked restaurants close frequently throughout the day, which is inconvenient even if they tell you in advance. They'll start taking the food away while people are still serving themselves in the buffet. They even limit people simply sitting or passing through the dining area. Sure they open up other eating options, but those are usually smaller and have far fewer choices.

- have to pay even for non-alcoholic drinks beyond water and bad coffee. And the prices are scandalous..$6 for a bottle of water?? You can't call it an all-inclusive experience when you try to rip off your passengers at every possible opportunity

- no flexibility with seated dinners unless you want to - wait for it - pay extra for "My Time Dining". Only gave us one option at cruise booking for an 8:30pm seating, which meant we were never done with dinner until after 10pm. Not great for people who don't like sleeping on a full stomach.
