An average cruise...

Sail Date: December 01, 2013

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

Older ship. Horrible television programming and onboard entertainment. Television programming consisted of an eight track tape that played the same commercials and old programs over and over. Forced to pay exorbitant prices for lousy drinks. Also forced to pay for tips at the end of the cruise (illegal if you ask any lawyer) as if it is the passengers' responsibility to subsidies the crews meager wages. Will never travel with Royal Caribbean again.

Pros: The food...

Cons: Being nickled and dimed for drinks and tips. Horrible television programming also.

Recommends Majesty of the Seas? No.

Ship Quality
Old ship. Not up to standards of Carnival lines. Would not recommend traveling on Royal Caribbean again. Have already been on two of their old vessels.
Food and Dining
For the most part, the food is excellent. Having to dine with other people wasn't part of my itinerary, since I would have preferred a table for 2, and not have to sit at a table for 8.
Cabin / Stateroom
Ship was old, not up to 21st century standards.
Service and Staff
They did their jobs, but I shouldn't be forced to pay extra in tips just because they were there. I paid once already, and I shouldn't have to pay extra for them doing their jobs.
Entertainment
Absolutely horrible. 1980s rock band that couldn't hit a note if it wanted to? Activity director was horrible. Television programming consisted of an 8 track tape going round and round with the same 4 shows and 5 commercials over and over. Sucked is the best word to describe your entertainment and activities.
