I sailed RC a few years ago and was impressed by their quality of service overall.
This last cruise was sub-par to say the least. The wait-staff was great and there wasn't any one particular thing that we were unhappy with, but we did not feel the same level of quality as the first time we sailed with them. Furthermore, we felt they really try to nickel and dime you while on board. They try to charge you for "fresh orange juice", and we were charged for an after-dinner coffee. Carnival at least gives you lobster and filet mignon, while RC charges and extra $40 for this. Some of the bar staff at the club was rude and no one really went out of their way to give us a great experience. On the last day, breakfast was served until 8:30, and when we arrived at 8:35 we were not served. The DJ played the exact same music in the same order on all three days we went to the club. Not a fun experience at all. RC was our cruise line of choice, but now they are on the same level as Carnival.

This is an old ship that needs renovating.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very cramped and musty odor.

Ship Tip

For a first cruise, I guess this would be OK, but I would not recommend to anyone with any expectations of a great experience.
