GREAT VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY. FUN ON-BOARD ACTIVITIES AND NICE EXCURSIONS. THIS IS A GREAT CRUISE FOR FIRST TIME CRUISERS WHO WANT TO TRY IT OUT, OR THOSE WHO WANT A QUICK GETAWAY ON A MODEST BUDGET. IT WAS ALSO NICE TO KNOW THAT ROYAL CARRIBEAN PUTS PASSENGER SAFETY IN FIRST PLACE BY CONDUCTING THE SAFETY DRILL ON THE FIRST DAY BEFORE THE SHIP EVEN LEAVES THE DOCK. (THE BOAT WRECK TRAGEDY THAT TOOK PLACE ON THE COMPETITOR CRUISE LINE IN ITALY HAPPENED ABOUT A WEEK AFTER WE GOT BACK FROM OUR CRUISE).

Pros: VALUE, ACTIVITIES, CLEANLINESS

Cons: SLIGHT MISHAP WITH STATEROOM SELECTION AND MEAL TIME ON COCOCAY (PRIVATE) ISLAND

Recommends Majesty of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
DECOR WAS NICE. BOARDING AND DISEMBARKING SHIP WAS FAST AND ORDERLY. THE TWO JACUZZIS ON THE POOL DECK ARE SURPRIZINGLY SMALL, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, PLENTY OF ROOM TO WALK ABOUT WITHOUT FEELING OVERWHELMED BY MASSES.
Service and Staff
WE DID EXPERIENCE ONE DISAPPOINTMENT AT THE GUEST RELATIONS DESK. THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST IN REFUNDIMG OR UPGRADING US FOR THE EXTRA MONEY WE SPENT FOR A DIFFERENT STATEROOM THAT WE BOOKED THROUGH PRIOR TO THE CRUISE. HOWEVER, WE DID GET REFUNDED AFTER WE RETURNED HOME, SO NO WORRIES. OTHER THAN THIS, THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL, ESPECIALLY THE STATEROOM AND DINING ATTENDANTS.
Food and Dining
THE FOOD AT THE WINDJAMMER CAFE WAS EXCELLENT. LOTS OF CHOICES AVAILABLE ON THE BUFFET AND OPEN MOST OF THE TIME...I PERSONALLY LIKED IT BETTER THAN THE TRADITIONAL TABLE DINING. THERE WAS ONE MISHAP THAT OCCURED ON COCOCAY (PRIVATE ISLAND). NONE OF THE STAFF GAVE VERBAL COMMUNICATION TO THE PASSENGERS THAT THE BARBECUE BUFFET ENDS AT AROUND 1:30-2:00PM, WHICH IS SOME THREE HOURS BEFORE THE FINAL CALL TO RETURN TO THE SHIP. SINCE THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO EAT ON THE ISLAND BESIDES THE BUFFET, YOU ARE SCREWED IF YOU MISS IT. ACCORDINGLY, WE HAD TO CUT OUR TIME SHORT ON THE ISLAND IN ORDER TO RETURN BACK TO THE SHIP TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT.
Cabin / Stateroom
WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH OUR STATEROOM. WE HAD A STANDARD OCEANVIEW ROOM ON DECK 2 NEAR THE FRONT OF THE SHIP. NONETHELESS, OUR ROOM WAS CLEANED TWICE A DAY, AND OUR STATEROOM ATTENDANT "PIERRE" INQUIRED OCCASSIONALLY TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK. MY WIFE IS VERY PICKY WHEN IT COMES TO ROOM CLEANLINESS AND SHE HAD NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY. THE ROOM WAS QUIET AND WE DID NOT EXPERIENCE SEASICKNESS, WHICH WAS ONE OF MY WIFE'S CONCERNS BEFORE THE TRIP.
Entertainment
THE CRUISE DIRECTOR "LEIGH" AND THE ENTERTAINMENT STAFF ARE THE LIFE OF THE PARTY. THEY GO ALL OUT TO ENTERTAIN AND SPREAD AROUND THE FUN. DON'T MISS THE 70'S DANCE PARTY ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE CRUISE. IT WAS FUN, NOSTALGIC, WITH FAMILY FRIENDLY MUSIC. THE EVENING SHOWS WERE ENTERTAINING TOO.
