Review summary

We just returned from a 4 night trip on the Majesty of the Seas. This is our fourth cruise in total, but the first time in 15 years and the first time on Royal Caribbean. We left from Miami and the check in experience was quick and flawless. We were very impressed compared to past experiences with other cruises/cruise lines. The ship was mid-sized, just right for those who don't want to feel lost. The crew was excellent, friendly and very efficient and made you feel comfortable and welcome. The food was good and tasty and each night varied, however we were a little disappointed there were not many salads offered on the menu. Entertainment was excellent with many shows, things to participate in, and fun events. There was never a dull moment if you wanted something to do. The ship traveleed to Key West and Nassau and then stopped at the cruise line's private island of Cocoa Cay. There were many options for shore excursions which should satisfy anyone's taste. The private island was wonderful with great facilities, nice beaches and a small straw market. The ONLY thing that was disappointing, and this is not to the detriment of the cruise line but was to our stupidity, was we scheduled our cruise during spring break!! The ship was full of celebrating college kids who were a little unruly, loud and in some cases, obnoxious. While we can remember those days, and heaven forbid, we were no different, we would strongly recommend that anyone taking a cruise, check for winter or Easter break school schedules, if you want a more relaxed and quiet time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
food was always tasty and of excellent quality. we were disappointed that a variety of salads were not offered each night and in comparison to other cruises we've taken, they did not offer some of the higher end foods like lobster, as other cruise lines have on the formal night.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment ranged from song and dance, magic, comedy, game participation, contests, and a variety of music in different lounges. You could never be bored!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
the crew was the best. ....friendly, willing to help, and went out of their way to make the cruise enjoyable and fun. Sadly, when it's time to leave, you feel like you are leaving a good friend.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
ship was clean, nice public areas but in need of some updating.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
the outside room with porthole was very small but surprisingly, we were able to put away all of our belongings as well as our suit cases with room to spare.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
The port of Nassau was disappointing however we went to the Atlantis Hotel and spent the day there at the casino and taking a tour. This hotel was spectacular.

Key West, Florida

3 out of 5
took the conch train tour...interesting, informative, fun
Don't Miss: if you have never been to the island, take the tour.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
excellent facilities, good beaches, nice picnic provided by cruise line.

Pros: good crew/entertainment/

Cons: spring break---too many college kids!!!
