Love Cruises but not Majesty of the Seas

Sail Date: June 01, 2010

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Inside

We took Majesty of the Seas in 2007, and liked it the food was great, everything was very nice so that is why we booked it again now in 2010. We were wrong! We heard about the $$$ renovations but never saw them, maybe it was structural work? Our state room was def. not updated and needed a few repairs! The food was HORRIBLE, cafateria food! They served the SAME foods everynight, where they didn't in 2007. OF course the staff was excellent as always! As far as the activities, they could be comapred to what you would see at a retirement home. After coming home and doing research of other ships and companies, we are most likely to take Carnival and/or higher class ships with Royal Carribean. We took Carnival in 2008 and loved it, the food was great and had more of a selection!

Pros: The cruise experience, the clear waters

Cons: The food, the activites, the ship

Recommends Majesty of the Seas? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
They were very small, but thats fine considering how many they have to fit on the ship, but our room def. need some repairs!
We compared it to retirement home activites, not very fun! More geared towards the older crowd!
Ship Quality
Didn't see the upgrades?
Food and Dining
Cafeteria food! Same food served EVERY night!
Children's Programs
We took our 18 month old with us, and saw great advertisement on the ship for activites his age.....WRONG! The advertisments were greaat but the activites were NOT! We went to "Extra Exercise" and it was 3 small foam blocks to climb on, and the Crayola Coloring Time was just a piece of paper and crayons. With the decorations being so nice I though the activites could of been way better! After doing research and seeing other kids room, this one was just thrown together!
Service and Staff
Staff is always excellent!
