Unforgettable first time cruise!

Sail Date: April 06, 2009

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Suite

The ship was extremely clean and you could tell it was recently refurbished with new carpet and upgrades. We stayed in a Grande Suite and it was incredible. The service on the boat was outstanding. We never had to wait in a line and there was always someone there wanting to know if we had everything we needed. The only bad thing was that we had such bad weather in the Bahamas that we had to skip going to Cocoa Cay.

Pros: Something to do for everyone.

Cons: The weather.

Food and Dining
Convenience is the key here. There was food available to us all the time. The dining room food was good, but not great. The food in the Windjammer was very good and there was a lot of selection - food for everyone. I wish that soft drinks were available.
Ship Quality
Very clean, nicely decorated with great artwork. The pool deck was always clean. I never saw a piece of trash anywhere.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our room was enormous as we had a Grande Suite. There were 4 of us in the room and there was so much space for all of us. The balcony was perfect with a lot of room and it felt very safe. The bathroom was a good size. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was just perfect for a family of four. We were on deck 10 which was excellent because we were one floor away from the restaurant and pool deck. Even though we were under the pool deck, our room was very quiet.
Service and Staff
Always ready to help you out. Our stateroom attendant brought us surprises every day and the towel animals were great fun for both the adults and the kids.
Always something to do for every age.
Key West, Florida
LOVED Key West. There were great excursions - my husband and daughter went parasailing over the clear, blue waters. We were able to walk most of the city visiting the Butterfly museum/house, Southern-most point of the US, and everything up and down Duval street. Great, fun island shopping.
Don't Miss: MUST eat a slice of Key Lime Pie or chocolate-dipped Key Lime Pie.
Nassau, Bahamas
We had bad weather so it is hard to rate this one well. Nassau seemed kind of dumpy and the locals at the port were overwhelming trying to get you to buy their services.
Don't Miss: Atlantis/Paradise Island.
