Good, but not great

Sail Date: October 13, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Inside

Better than Norwegian, but not as good as Carnival.

Pros: The Buffet food and the casino

Cons: A lot of cruisers didn't speak English. The I in RCI really means International.

Recommends Majesty of the Seas? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Inside cabin was small, but adequate. LCD TV channels and movie timetables should be printed out somewhere, instead of having to wade through video TV guide all the time. Air Conditioning control was good. Shower water flow and temperature control were also good.
Games and activities at the pool on the first day to get people in the mood would be better than just music.
Service and Staff
Ship Quality
There were no tables and chairs around the pool deck, only chaise lounge chairs for laying out.
Food and Dining
Buffet food was very good and with good variety. Hours of availability could be longer. Pizza and soft serve ice cream or yogurt should be available 24 hours, like on Carnival, instead of limited hours.
Nassau, Bahamas
The Island basically has casinos, shopping and water sports, none of which were outstanding. Most everybody goes to Atlantis. The sting rays and other fish in the aquatic tank at Atlantis is nice to see.
Key West, Florida
The conch train and then a self-guided walk down Duval Street is the best way to check out everything here. Taking your own pictures at the Conch Train stop at the southern most point of the USA is one for the archives. A lot of the flavor of Key West is lost because the port stop was only in the daytime. There is a lot more to see at night.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
The seas were rough, so this port stop was cancelled, since there is no dock and the tendering would have been dangerous.
