Review summary

Excellent ship with outstanding staff. Camp Discovery treehouse policy to not take in toddlers that need assistance with diaper change is highly regressive and disappointing. We had to cancel several excursions because of this which cost us 100’s of dollars. Guest services was highly unaccommodating of our needs in this regard as well. If you are a young family, don’t choose Princess.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Cruise needs to be more kid friendly - camp discovery needs to expand its offerings for toddlers and need to provide full time day care style services to allow parents some time to relax and enjoy.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The platinum photo shoot package is a rip off with eye gouging pricing…

Service and Staff

Staff was highly courteous and responsive. Though room service kept missing our standing order for milk for our kids before bedtime. We had to keep reminding them.

Ship tip

I bought premier package with digital photos but the process of collecting the digital photos was painful as the face recognition doesn’t work as desired. Having to go through thousands of picture on last day to pick kissing photos was excruciatingly long and Princess should use medallion to scan cruise goers before taking their pictures to better manage photos.

Expectations for taking little kids on a Princess cruise ship seem unrealistic. Do your homework and research next time.

If you bothered to do any research, you would know that Princess is for more adult cruising. Kids are more than welcome, but there is very few activities for younger kids, ie, waterslides, rock walls, flow riders, ect. Also you should be aware that Princess has nothing to do with port operations outside of the ship. If you have a complaint about taxis and other transportation, thats on you to work out with port officials or whichever transfer you choose.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I recommend not taking little kids on cruises - it's just not the right environment for them.

I think you're confusing a play area with a daycare. The information is on the website that children must be potty trained for both camp Discovery and using the pool.

Thanks for sharing your cruising experience. Where you able to do anything in Alaska?
