Review summary

Overall a nice trip. Worth the visit and glad we did it. Didn’t find anything special about cruising on Princess versus a competitor other than the crowd leaned a little older, so definitely no worries about having quiet if that’s what you seek.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
A lot lining up and corralling to hardly move for hours

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was ok. Plenty of options, dining rooms and specialty restaurants were a step above the buffet. But nothing amazing or rave worthy.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty of things to do for all ages and interests

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Musicians/DJ were great, the ship stage shows were just ok. Staff were doing the best and quite talented but seemed a little high school theateresque

Children's Programs

Didn’t have children/didn’t use

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff are great and try their best to be courteous and friendly. Our room steward was awesome.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very nice ship and was kept very clean

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was ok, furnishings definitely age it. Balcony is a little tight but definitely nice and a must have for days at sea/scenic cruising.

Ship tip

Bring a sleep mask. Very bright almost all day so if you are sensitive to trying to sleep without darkness, this is a must have!

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
Great city, very walkable and plenty to explore. Cruise ship terminal is very easy to access.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Great place to get out and explore nature through excursions. We went kayaking and ended with a lumberjack show. Both were fun.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Sled dog mush camp was cool and the puppies are the cutest! We also went to Mendehall Glacier and whale watching very much worth it! Saw so many whales spouting and breaching it was amazing.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Nice port town, the great white pass rail ride was very scenic, the excursion with the Yukon suspension bridge was worth it for the views.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Scenic cruising, captain rotates the ship so both sides get plenty of time to take in the beautiful sites of the glaciers.

Cruise College Fjord, Alaska

5 out of 5
Stunning glaciers and the naturalist presentation were great, happy to have seen these.

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska

3 out of 5
Anchorage is over an hour from the port, easy to get around the town of anchorage especially on the trolley.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Was quick to get off, luggage retrieval was easy but they got us off earlier than necessary given that you have to wait for a while to leave by transfer.
