Book a cabin on a high deck if you want an ocean view

Don’t expect too much for the price paid. I think we got good value all round for the cost of the trip.

Do not book the Magellan until it’s had a refurbishment

back deck9 allows for lovely sea views and is sheltered from the wind

Go for it, you’ll be made very welcome

Don't look for faults enjopy an older ship

Be prepared to enjoy yourself. Everyone from the captain down will be eager to help you. Don't forget to use Sinatra's bar.

i love sailing with Cruise and Maritime Voyages and I love Magellan but I've often see. Negative reviews about them. I have never had a bad experience in five cruises. My advice is don't take any notice of any reviews try it and make your mind up.

Magellan and Cruise and Maritime Voyages often get negative reviews. I have been with the five times and cannot fault them. Ignore negative reviews, go on Magellan and see for yourself.

Just enjoy

Do not arrive too early! Be wary when using the spa of the fact they'll recommend options etc which are very expensive!

Dine in the restaurants

Your lifejacket is in your cabin. Could be deck 4. The boats are on deck 10. The drill instruction is for you to go to your cabin from wherever you are on the ship. Entertainment. Restaurants deck 7 8 9. Can’t use lifts. There are spare lifejackets at boats for 10% of passengers. Go straight to the boat. Use a boat based life jacket. DO Not re enter the ships hull. People will die collecting lifejackets. Don’t let it be you
