Review summary

We perfer smaller ships and Maasdam was great for us.  With only 1200 guests, you actually see some of the same people more than once and the crew get to know you by name,  It never felt crowded on board - there was always a seat or table or chaise lounge to be found.  An excellent size gym with new equipment, but did not like their charge of $12 for a yoga or Pilates class.  Morning stretch and aerobics were free.

Food service in the buffet restaurant can be slow as it's not self serve - they serve you.  Also enjoyed both of their speciality restaurants.

Wolud definitely consider Maasdam for future cruises.

A good size and very comfortable cabin which includes a full size sofa and a bath tub. Shame that there's one paint splatters on the leafther sofa as well as the balcony furniture. Balconies could use a facelift.

Ship tip

We were floor 9 near the back. There's a small deck out back with 8 chaise lounges and steps leading up to the pool & bar on 10 then more steps to the buffet restaurnt on 11. So very convenient, though at times noisy hearing furniture being arranged overhead. Lifts were also nearby the cabin.
