7 Night Canada & New England Discovery (Montreal To Boston)
Sail Date: June 27, 2015
Ship: Maasdam
Cabin Type: Oceanview
Cabin Number: 831
Traveled As: Family (older children)
Reviewed: 2 years ago

The 1258 passenger capacity of the Maasdam was ideal. Compared to the frantic and crowded atmosphere found on  "megaships", our cruise experience was very relaxed.

The food and dining areas were wonderful. The Maasdam staff were efficient and friendly.

Ventilation needs to be improved in the Library / Internet Room. Due to the chronic 2nd hand smoke wafting into the area from the next door casino, we avoided the using the Library or purchasing internet time.

Ship Quality

Health issues of 2nd hand smoke in the Library, and the observed use of the pool by infants in diapers need to be addressed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
A roomy and clean cabin. Although the sounds from the ship's engines were noticable, we usually enjoyed a restful sleep. Our cabin steward did a great job for us.
