Review summary

The Maasdam is a very nice ship for its size. It is very clean and the crew is extremely friendly and helpful. I wish there were more staterooms with balconies.

Food and Dining

Food on the Maasdam was excellent. The menus contained ample choices and there were options available if you didn't like the choices that evening. I was impressed that they didn't run out of some foods as some lines do.

Entertainment

Most nights there were big production numbers. When you cruise a lot as we do, this gets old fast. A comedian would have broken up the monotony.

Service and Staff

Very friendly staff. Our dining room steward went out of his way to make sure everyone at our table received every special order menu item. He was great.

Ship Quality

We have sailed many times but this was the first on Holland America. All was as expected.

Cabin / Stateroom

While this wasn't a balcony stateroom, it was very nice, clean with lots of storage space for clothes. In fact, their was more storage than on many newer ships.
