A Relaxing Cruise
Maasdam Cruise Review to Caribbean - Southern

HAl seems to be somewhat a subdued cruise line. There wasn't the carnival like atmosphere that we've enjoyed on other cruise ships. If you are looking for a 'relaxing' cruise where all you do is lounge around all day than this ship is for you.
We were on an 11-day cruise and after a few days of this it did get quite boring. The cruise director staff needs to get on deck and liven things up!!!
Even the bars in the evening were low keyed. We're use to Karoake and skits, etc. that are on other ships. HAL had the piano bar, and low keyed bands. Even the nightlife in the Crowsnest was somewhat played down. The ship's staff seemed to have a good time but the paying passengers were left out in the cold.

Pros: Left out of Norfolk, VA. Food was great, Service was excellent, Shows were OK
Cons: Smoking in the Casino. Had some rough seas & the boat was rocking a few days. Not a lot of activities on deck.
