Step it up Royal Carribean by kgrasl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Royal Caribbean you need to change your mattresses more often.  They are very worn in and so uncomfortable.  Other than the absence of bar staff we had a wonderful time on our cruise.

Second experience with Royal Carbbean by samsharma

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We took our first cruise in November 29th 1997, Western Caribbean, Majesty of Seas, Best ever!

This time start was not very pleasant, especially with Aloo Gobhi, on first Night Dinner! (Last cruise with Carnival, we had much better Indian food, which I mentioned to the Crew Group) However we, group of 11 (All Indians)had the privilege of meeting with The Chef Blasio Soos, from then on it was smoother sailing, every night, new Indian Dish, new snacks, My Hats off to the Chef, rest of the group, Albert; Alex; Rincard; Able (Red Coat);  Liliano from Romania, she took care of the room like no one else in our last 4 cruises.

I always did and have still great regards for Royal Caribbean cruise line and will travel again as we are planning to retire in May 2016.

Cheers!

Sam (Suresh) Sharma

Overall the cruise was very nice.  There was plenty to do while on the ship and many excursions were available.  The food was good although I wouldn't say fabulous.  The staff was wonderful, always had a smile and were willing to do whatever needed to make you happy.

Good but Needs Help by Cruiser524

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall it was a good cruise.  I felt the food and food service was lacking.  We had a bad encounter with one of the staff on the last day when we were departing, which left a bad taste for the whole cruise.  I have traveled with Royal before and this trip was below the others.

So much to do so little time. by davidleemartin

The entertainment was exceptional. Waiter Roberto and Assistant Waiter Marcel were attentive and entertaining.  The food was good, the lobster was exceptionally good, there was a variety of deserts to chose from.  Our cabin Steward was exceptionally attentive, checking frequently on our needs.  The casino table dealers were friendly and personable especially Katrina who I kidded about taking home with me to meet mom and dad. There were plenty of activities to keep children occupied and ntertained with a curfew for thos under 18. Loved it.

Worth the trip by blaneyca916

The my time dining was wonderful as usual on RC. Yuri and Leaford made each evening enjoyable and added some humor as the week went along. Boarding is quite smooth but departure has been a nightmare the last two of our cruises with RC. This time hard rain delayed our departure making everyone anxious about our flight.  Our luggage was wet.  You would think that a cruise line like Royal would handle the rain in stride and be prepared for it.  NOT SO

Royal Carribean Cruise by napide54

We enjoyed  having a promenade room, it was easy for us to access all areas.  The weather and the staff was great . Would do another cruise on this line. Our booking agent did an outstanding job setting up our arrangements.

Great vacation but some issues by djpcrna43

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was nice but was going to be dry docked for refurbishing so it will look even better soon. Roatan was disappointing because it was so under developed and not a lot to do if you aren't into water sports. Had to take a tender into Belize due to shallow water. The shops around the port were nice but I wouldn't venture too far off the path due to dangerous areas. Did the Baymen City Tour which was too corny. Save your money. Cozumel was great. Did the Mexican cuisine and tasting which was fabulous!! Highly recommend this excursion. The service on the ship was great! We upgraded to a junior suite which was very nice. Once we got back to Galveston, the weather was horrible with over 40 mile an hour winds and they were having difficulty securing the gangplank to the boat. We were delayed over an hour trying to get off the ship. Only one announcement was made about a delay. Finally we saw people leaving and we followed the crowd. We were scheduled to be first off the ship but there were people who were scheduled to leave well after us leaving before us. The disembarking process was a free for all and extremely disorganized. We took a shuttle organized by RC and we had to wait in the pouring rain for the bus. I don't think I would ever leave out of Galveston again. I

Not the best, but not the worst by moosen44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship was nice and they worked hard to keep it cleaned and maintained. The ports were good. Jamaica was worst one. Will never go back there.  Dirty and not much to do.  Most of the excursions had weight limits, being former football player it limited what I could do. The entertainment and food were sub par. Being on other cruises this was the worst for those.  Overall decent cruise, but probably not leave out of Galveston again or on this ship.

november 29th 2015 liberty of the sea by cindygaskin

overall I would have to say the cruise was good not great or excellent   The ship was not as clean and the staff did not seem as friendly and efficient as they have been on previous cruises.  Staff members did not seem to be as helpful on this cruise. For the cost of the excursions I would not recommend them.  The food was ok but has been better on past cruises.  We were traveling with 2 other couples. One of the couples husband had a heart attack while on a diving excursion. His wife and myself had to get off ship at that point to be with him.  When we found out about his hospitalization it was almost time for the ship to leave port.  We were rushed off of the ship not giving us time to get our belongings.   My husband and the other couple stayed on board to take care of our luggage and we were assured when we left the ship they would have help when they disembarked. My husband stated that he did not have help to get the luggage off the ship. We were very disappointed in how this matter was handled and how the staff made us feel when rushing us to leave the ship.  we understand that the ship is on a timeline but I think perhaps this policy needs to be reviewed and staff needs more training on how to manage issues like this

Our second cruise with Royal Caribbean was as good as our first, and that one was phenomenal!!! Great food, superior service, and lots to do on the ship. I will definitely recommend Royal Caribbean to friends!

I must also commend CheapTickets. They were very helpful and accommodating through the entire process.

Carefull disembarking by dcauble

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Galveston Porter carried our bags and left us off in the wrong place.  Told us the bus would pick us up here.  Total lie so that he could get back in and get more money.  Bus pickup was several yards west and he was supposed to take us there and keep our bags until we loaded on the bus.  Another porter saw our predicament and loaded our bags and took us to the proper pick up location and stayed with us until we loaded on the bus.  Other than that the cruise was wonderful.

Good time in the Caribbean by Suzanne55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed our recent trip to the Caribbean out of Galveston on Liberty of the Seas. Overall, the staff was friendly, but some seemed less than enthused to be there. The ship is older and is going to be rejuvenated early next year. If I had know this, I probably would have selected another ship. However, our room was clean and the promenade was really nice. I haven't been on a ship with a promenade before. It is a great place to people watch and flag down newfound friends.

Our excursions were great. We booked those through , and things went well. I think the worst thing about the cruise was the food. Nothing was really spectacular and most of it was very unappealing. The pizza at Sorrento's was worse than the pizza at our grandchild's school cafeteria!

The cruise director and activity director were fun and friendly. The ice show was out of this world, and I loved the Saturday Night Fever show. There are some great ice skaters and dancers on board. The comedians were both really lacking, though.

Liberty of the Seas by CruiseLove777

Changing hands and getting ready to update this ship, so the crew was a little "off".  But overall it was a good experience.  We enjoyed not having to wait in line for much of anything.  The food was not quite up to par.  I would definitely ask them to rethink that cheese plate at the restaurant dinners.  Although we did enjoy them having escargot back on the menu.  Missed the warm chocolate cake and the one night we got it, I wasn't impressed.Wink

This was our 13th cruise . Half Carnival / half Royal Caribbean. We will continue with Royal. The entertainment was amazing on this ship. Saturday Night fever was awesome ! Highly recommend taking cupcake decorating lessons . Had a blast and the chef was amazing also ! Flow rider was so much fun ! The dining room staff made our dinner time so memorable . Food was amazing as well ! Had no negative things about this cruise except we wish it would go to a private island from Galveston. Can't wait to book cruise # 14 ! Thank you !

Great entertainment, Great staffs, Great food, Great service. Liberty of the Sea has plenty of staffs to entertain and service you. We love my time dinning experience and staffs who wait on us are very very nice. Shore excursion staffs need improvement  ( I recommend doing your homework by reading about the destination and decide what you want to do rather than reading shore excursion guide because it does not provide a lot of pictures or detail about the tour) . All their packages are overprice.

Spa staffs need improvement ( not very friendly, we got a spa voucher for massage through United and because of that staffs treat us poorly which is not  fair) We still think that it is a good value and we will go with Royal Caribbean again.
