Plenty things to do! by reyplaya

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Big SmileI just love the days at sea, there it's so many things to do on board of the Liberty of the seas that you can't assist to every event you wish. The shows are expectaculars, the food excellent and the crew extremely nice. Flow rider, eater slides, basketball, soccer, climbing wall, casino, shopping, mini golf, ping-pong table, hot tubs, belly flop contest and keep on going fun all day and nigth.

Tropical storm detour by Therapy1Dav

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were unable to visit Honduras and Belize because of the tropical storm that was headed in the same direction.  We only visited Cozumel and Nassau ( not on the original itinerary) and spent an extra day at sea.  Hopefully we will somehow be compensated for this unexpected detour.

Hurricane Earl Takes the Wind out of our Trip by rharden2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our itinerary was affected by hurricane Earl. While RC did a good job keeping us safe and gave us an alternative destination (Nassau, Bahamas) and refunded paid for excurisions,  there were not enough shore excurisions available to go around on short notice. So a walkthrough of the Atlantis resort was all we could get. What a waste of time/money! The immediate area around the port is very depressed and looks unsafe, so we went back to the ship. Liberty is a very nice ship - very clean and lots of good entertainment, pools, etc. But the main dining room food & service was poor. The buffet was much better! Sabor mexican restaurant was GREAT! Only found 2 bartenders worth anything on the whole ship - good thing we had the drink package, many drinks weren't drinkable. Most staff appeared tired but they got up for the shows in the promenade. Too many shopping sales - clogged up the promenade. First trip on RC - a little disappointing but we will give it another shot - but NOT from Galveston. Port facilities are another story!

Liberty of the Seas - 7 Nights Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip) by parenak

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would have rated my overall experience as excellent but the horrible Internet connection experience. Connection to the Internet to simply read my email was SO SLOW and TERRIBLE that I won't even refer it to my worst enemy! Quite frankly the performance of your internet service was the worst I have ever experienced in my over 25 years of experience in IT. We purchased 2 connections service for over $200.00 for the week. It was a rip-off and total waste.

Fine but not the best by robfam94

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our ports were cancelled due to the weather.  Safety is always first, but alternatives should be of similar to equal value, if at all possible. Also changes in itinerary should be better prepared for. Free on board activities should have been increased with the added sea days.

Galveston port kinda rough by dquince

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Sailing from Galveston is kinda rough.  It's a long trip from the airport (IAH) and there is very little support  for Transfers through RCCL.  Between transportation and hotels on both ends of the cruise added about $1000 for 6 of us.

Also, our cruise itinerary was changed in order to avoid a tropical storm turned hurricane and, because of the home port location, there was very little in the way of options for alternative ports of call.  For cursing to the Caribbean I will chose the florida ports in the future as storms are frequently a possibility.

First time cruiser..... by Cruiser15716501

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

For a first time cruiser this cruise exceeded my expectations. My wife and I celebrated our 38th anniversary,  we felt like royalty aboard this ship.  The sea world excursion was awesome.

Most awesome vacation by beverlywhitmire

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Favorite part of cruise :  we felt completely pampered.

What improvements could be made:  we are very early risers (before 5am), being able to get breakfast (even a limited options menu) before 6am as opposed to leftover sandwiches in the coffee shop.

We would definitely recommend this trip to others, we've already booked our next one on this same ship!

Had Way too much FUN! by denisesilleck

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

With inclement weather headed to our original stops, they did a fantastic job of rerouting us and giving us great weather for the entire seven days.

Andre and Singh in the Fine Dining restaurant treated us like good friends and accommodated us in every way!

Lenny (our steward) did a fabulous job keeping our room up and creating great animal towels.

Elaina in the SPA and I made a great connection and was very informative.

We had a great time getting involved in a lot of the sport activities on board and game shows.  Stayed busy and enjoyed as much as we could!

Fun in the sun by bscheuler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very relaxing if you pick the right excursions.  A little disappointed in the ship staff. Many of he staff seamed inconvenienced at you asking them questions and a little snappy with their replies.  I was impressed by the Chinese and most of the island staff.  The Captain was great!  He took time to address everyone on a regular basis.  All of the ports of call were nice as well.

Great food, great staff, overall excellent time.  Everything was very organized and well thought out.  The food in the Wind Jammer and dining hall was fantastic and the kids activities were also great.

Great cruise except for the rude kids and their parents. by noguacamoles

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

While we had great time with the excursions and amenities, dealing with the rude kids and their parents was the worst on this cruise.  We only get to cruise during the summer because my wife is a teacher and this cruise had the worst kids and even worse parents.  One night, after the 10 pm, while trying to enjoy piano player at the Schooner Bar a grandmother camped out 8 grand kids while the parents were in the casino. Needless to say they took up a large portion of the bar and were only there to play on their phones and pads.  All kids were under 8 and 2 spent most of the time asleep.  When I brought this up to the staff and a supervisor I was told there was nothing they could do because it wasn't off limits to kids.  So after tipping the waiters we left and didn't return.  And won't return on summer cruises out of Galveston.  We're looking forward to a Adult Only resort we have already booked for next summer.

Good food, shows and loved the Promenade - shops and food were very convenient!

Didn't realize the number of passengers - so too many passengers for me.

Liberty of the Seas cruise by albisro1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was really good, this is not my first time in Royal Caribbean cruise. This time the lobster was smaller and the drinks more expensive in few years if this continue no lobster and no drinks. The Costa Maya Port was a real tourist trap I will never returns.

Great staff, beautiful boat, good food by Cruiser88638283

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very nice boat, we loved our room with balcony.  Not at all cramped.  Staff we dealt w wee all very friendly and helpful.  You could tell that some really love what they do. Very easy vacation. Was very "organized" and efficient also. I could have Skipped the spa though. Atmosphere wasn't relaxing nor attractive.  Services were just fine, but not the pampering experience I was hoping for.  And I really wish they didn't try to sell me something with each treatment.

We are also fuddy-duddys and the music on the boat was too loud, (the only other cruise we've taken was on a bit smaller boat, more subdued atmosphere). The best way I can describe it is this felt like a stay at a mall, our other cruise felt like a nice hotel.  So a lot of this is no fault of the cruise-just differing taste/interest.

Excellent, Wow! by Hossain

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first time on the Royal Cruise. A lot of activities on the ship, very friendly staff. Excellent service. Our dinning servers were very friendly, respectful, smiley face all the time and it seemed to enjoy their job. It was a great cruise and will definitely do it again. The only suggestion I have is to install net over the basketball and soccer playground on twelve floor. We lost few balls to Gulf and we could not play any more until the next day. Also more time was scheduled for volleyball and basketball and not enough time for the soccer (only one hour a day). It was not fair and time scheduling should be divided equally at least between soccer and basketball. Anyhow, I will definitely refer this cruise to all my friends.

Loved the relaxing environment! by nadirnery

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise is really nice and the food is awesome.  My kids loved the slides and pools.  I would probably try to take another cruise in low season as it was quite crowded sometimes.  But the cruise is definitely worth it!  The excursion to Red Stripe beach in Jamaica was nice, pristine waters and not too many people!

wonderful time by Eura0527

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My favorite part was the overall ship its self and the people. The improvements I wish they would make would be keeping the ice cream stand open longer at night after dinner time is over. Also change the port Cozumel, I am just tired of going to this port out of Galveston. Yes I would recommend this cruise.
