Our cruise on the Liberty of the Seas was enjoyable.  I thought, with a couple of exceptions, that the entertainment was very good.  The Ice Skating show was excellent as was Up in the Air. The comics were okay and the lady singer likewise.  Nothing to really get excited about.  Liked the yogurt machine on deck and enjoyed the  veggie dishes.  Sorry, but the food, while good, was not up to the food on Princess.  The ship was lovely and a paradise for kids and young adults, but there needed to be more things for adults to do  during the days at seas(without extra$$$).  Enjoyed the Improv. class and trivia.  Would have liked a cap for my husband rather than a highlighter when we won trivia.

Average overall by cheryljoseph

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The good: the staff was very friendly, especially our wait staff and cabin service.

The bad: our room, as well as other areas on the boat smelled like sewage. The food was only average, and not as good as other cruise lines I have been on ( Carnival and Norwegian). Overall, I would choose another cruise line.

All around great experience by bmckinstry1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Beautiful ship, great crew, lots of fun activities, excellent food (although I would suggest a little "Tex Mex" and BBQ to be included in the menu, as well as using real eggs for making scrambled eggs and not the powder kind.

Big Smile

Liberty of the Seas Cruise by romaniperera

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Excellent Room service!!!!

To improve in the food service: having variety of fresh juices in the morning at the Windjammer.  Also having another waffle station.  If I remembered, there was only one. Main dining we had it in Michael Angelo; Overall food and customer service were great.

Having activity sheet in the room was very helpful.  Recommendation: add the activities in the room TV such as channel 17 or so...

Immigration services may need to be streamline to move in the fast pace. Recommendation: Can it be done in the ship?

Great Cruise with terrible disembarkment experience by plvjsmith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Royal Caribbean delivered superior customer service as always, with wonderful food and onboard entertainment. We had the good fortune of being upgraded which greatly enhanced our vacation also ( yes it does happen!). Disembarking was a nightmare however due to slow customs. It took in excess of 3 hours to disembark and cost us our shuttle as well as a missed flight.

had a great time! by dgaj

Loved the three ports; on board experience was excellent. Worst experience was disembarking at the end of the cruise, in the rain. Food was fine, nothing to write home about.

Great vacation! by nicolegore1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

We had a fabulous time on this ship! I honestly could have spent more days at sea. The food was great and service incredible! There were so many activities onboard from BINGO to rock climbing to the slides (great for both adults and kids) to unique entertaining shows in the evening. We loved the Royal Promendade which was a visually appealing row of restaurants, shops and bars. Although the cabins are small, I definitely recommend going for a balcony because it was worth it. We will definitely be back!

Great ship with awesome entertainment by dist8uic

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We loved our cruise onboard Liberty of the Seas. The ship and the entertainment was great. The food in the main dining room was good although I would have liked to have a better variety. It seems that the first few nights there were fewer things I preferred and the last few nights there were a lot of things I preferred on the menu. We ate in Chops one night and the food was incredible. The lunch buffet was better than what I had in the buffet in the past. The ports of call were good. When sailing out of Galveston there are not a lot of options. I wasn't intrigued with the excursions that Royal Caribbean had to our ports of call but I used some outside vendors for that. Mainly shore excursion group recommended by . The first excursion in Cozumel was a jeep safari ride to Isla Passion. The jeep ride was fun going through the jungle off road to a beach to catch a boat to Isla Passion. My wife didn't like the jeep ride but loved the island and my daughter thought the ride was ok and the island was great. Isla Passion was a secluded island just off of Cozumel. In the future we will probably go back but we will take the boat twister. The beach had the inflatable water toys and trampolines. They had hammocks both in the water and on the beach. I had about a 3-4 foot barracuda swimming around me while I was lounging in the hammock but he didn't bother me. We all got massages at the beach which were very nice and much less expensive than the ship.

Grand Cayman was next and we rode jet skis out to swim with the stingrays. This was fun but the water was a little rough and made it for a long ride with water constantly splashed all over us and into our eyes even though we were wearing sunglasses. Once out to the sandbar where the stingrays were we got off our jet ski and our guides caught some stingrays and explained some things about the stingray. Our guide actually put the barb into his mouth like a tooth pick. He explained about the stingray and then let us hold it to get pictures and kiss it. We were also allowed to feed the stingrays which float over your hand and suck the squid out of your hand. They can suck really hard. We then went to rum point for a break for about 20 minutes and then we went to starfish point and back to the starting point. The guides said it wasn't as rough that morning and the trip back was much better as it wasn't as rough. I highly recommend the stingrays although I'm not sure I would ride the jet skis as the trip was very rough and it was hard to see with all of the ocean salt water drenching our face. We did have better interaction since there were only 7 of us compared to a lot of people on the boat.

Our last trip was whitewater rafting in Jamaica. It was not an extreme white water rafting but more of a relaxed white water rafting. Our guide while young was very experienced in the nature around the river and with guiding our inflatable raft. The rapids were enough to keep us going most of the time and we didn't have to paddle very long or very hard to keep us going. We stopped at a point and were allowed to jump off from a plat form into the water. We then had a small boat hook up to us and pull us around to the beach where we got out. Our guide told us about different things along the trip and we stopped at a few places to get out and look at things she showed to us. She then asked us if we wanted to go shopping or go back to the port and some replied go shopping. We stopped at a small store that had some t shirts and rum tasting along with some other things. We got a 40% discount but it was still about $10 higher for the rum crème than what we could get back at the port.

Overall it was a great cruise. Great ship, good food, great entertainment, and good service. It seems that the food is not as good as I remember it on my earlier cruises but it wasn't bad food. Ever since they have added the specialty dining the food has been not as good in my opinion. I would do this ship and itinerary again just not anytime soon as I want to go different places. The excursions Royal Caribbean offered were not things I wanted to do so I looked outside the ship for excursions and I was pleased with the things I did.

We were in a Grand Suite which we love and I enjoyed the suite lounge in the evening. Also pretty much no waiting in almost everything we did because of the suite.

Liberty of the Seas by cherieben

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would recommend this cruise to others it was awesome.  The shows were exceptional!   The food and drinks were good and the crew and staff were great.

I failed to purchase the pictures on time and was sad.  I recommend setting up a website where pictures can be purchased after the cruise.

Wonderful Experience. by mcarrolyn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything was great with the exception of the disembarkation.   Had to wait in long lines on board and opted to carry our own luggage off to speed things up.  As we were traveling with children, we had to ask for milk at meals with the exception of breakfast.  Really think it should be readily available for all.  All in all everything was quite enjoyable.

We had a great start to our vacation. From day one it was amazing the staff, the food, the cabin, the ship it was all amazing. The activities on the ship are so many that you really don't get to do all of them. But the shows are wonderful and the theme parties where fun. It was an over all AMAZING experience. Loved it all. The food was good and readily available, the sports deck was a lot of fun, and the room was spacious with a fantastic view. I'd definitely recommend a sailing on this ship in a junior suite.

Relaxing and Delightful! by lafredfred37037

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We loved being on the ship.  It was pretty crowded but there was always a place to escape when needed. I didn't swim as much as I might have if there were less people. We never had any problems. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Average with problems with cruise excursion staff by Nsteadman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the cruise was about average.  The worst part was with the cruise excursion staff in organizing the excursions departure from the boat.  Royal Caribbean was trying a new method and really messed up.  As a result there was much confusion between the staff as and we missed our excursion due to getting off the boat 2 minutes after the boat left for the excursion.  The staff did not even apologize and even started to argue that it was our fault, when their staff wasn't even on the same sheet of music in the staging area.  The entertainment was average compared to Disney's shows.  The comedian was good.  The food was hit or miss each night in the main dining area.  The breakfast in the dining room was pretty good and the buffet in the windjammer was pretty good with a lot of variety for breakfast and lunch., although my kids were looking forward to donuts as they got on the Disney cruise and they really only had 1 type of donut and it tasted a week old, but that was ok, as it forced more healthy choices.  The spa was pretty good and the yoga class was great as we are new to yoga.  They had pizza for free on the promenade deck and was open late.  The shops were geared to jewelry, watches and perfume, which we were not interested in.  Other cruise ships shopping like Disney and even Carnival shops were better.  On the last day there was a stampede for RC Tshirts and it was a mess.  It was not organized very well and very hectic.  There were even a few people that almost got in fight over the shirts which were 2 for $20. Obviously, RC focus' on the revenue centers of the shops as the Cruise Director even referred to them on the first day as the "Revenue Center" on Deck 5,    Don't buy the Invicta watches, the same watches are cheaper on Evine.com even though RC says they are marked down 75%, they are still way over priced.  Probably the same for the other brands, but I don't have a comparison to verify.

Good, but not the best I've been on. by genifran

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

The excursion in Jamaica to swim with the dolphins was great.  The food and the wait staff were also great.  There was a mix-up concerning our notification for the excursion to Tulum, so our group missed getting on that tour.  We were sent on another tour and were refunded the difference of the prices.  The cabin attendant was also very good. I would recommend the cruise, but would probably caution them about the excursion information supplied on the "tickets', perhaps telling them to check all details beforehand.

Was very disappointed in food and the service on the cruise. The boat and activities were ok. Hated all the extra fees on the boat. Had more restaurants we had pay for then included.
