Royal Caribbean has gone downhill since our last cruise Feb 6, 2012. by drholzer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Favorite part was the entertainment.  The only decent meal was served by one of their specialty restaurants (incredible).  A major disappointment was the ports we visited.  You get off the ship and walk into a compound where you are fenced in and forced to shop at ship owned shops (no deals).  The only way to escape the compound was to purchase a high priced excursion.  For the most part the wait help was excellent.  Our first morning, we awoke with back issues.  We worked it out during the day and then it starts all over again the next morning.  Must be the bed.

Repeat cruise by ronr63

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Had a super outing at Grand Caymen with Cayman Eco Adventures on their  Stingray City Sandbar, the Barrier Reef and Starfish Point excursion. We were the only ones who booked and they ran the excursion anyway, as promised. Chip and his assistant Chris treated us well, and over a dozen Stingray's surrounding us at the first stop. They provided shrimp and fish to feed them, which was fun. We next snorkeled at the coral reef and finished at Starfish beach. At no time did we fell rushed. On the return trip they gave us fresh fruit to munch on, and provided water and beverages to purchase at fair rates. A great excursion we missed our first time and are glad we tried again.

First Cruise and Great Time!! by dongrooms

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and i took our first cruise recently. The seven night cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica, on board the Liberty of the Seas. This is a beautiful vessel, with a very helpful, and knowledgeable crew/staff. From the moment we boarded to the last day we were wondering why we waited so long. There were so many things to do while on board you could not do them all. We watched the morning show starring Jeffery, our cruise director. He would go over the days itinerary they called the "Cruise Compass". This was very helpful in planning our day, and when pulling into one of the ports, he would describe what we might find while off ship. Thank you Jeffery!! I must mention Melissa, our stateroom attendant. She would always great us with a smile, and made us feel right at home. Thank you Melissa!! The only thing that we were not thrilled with was the Coke cola pass. They did not give you coke from a can, it was fountain, and more like a sugary syrup cola, not real coke flavor. But that would be our only dislike. So cheers to the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas  for making our first cruise a memorable one!! Big Smile

Fun Vacay by 5232emop

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Probably our favorite part of the cruise was the entertainment.  The presentation of Encore and Saturday Night Fever were outstanding.  We attended every evening show and there was not one night that we walked away disappointed.  The elevators seemed to be extra slow the entire week.  We waited several minutes numerous times without having a car stop on our floor.  Having back problems, it was difficult to walk the stairs.  I would definitely recommend this ship to others and may book again ourselves.

Problem on gangplankI by ajsaper

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great cruise except the gangplank in Cozemel had a bump that cause my mobility Schooter to be jolted and my gearbox was damaged. When I informed the desk all the said was I should have told them when it happened. The loss of my mobility scooter caused me inconvience and additional monetary loss.

Huge Ship, Great Times on Board. by briansmith1475

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Definitely go to the battle of the sexes and Adult The Quest game shows because they are so fun and hilarious. The Michelangelo dining room staff of Reuben and Kadek that we had went above and beyond every night of the cruise that we were there. If you get these guys you'll have an excellent dinner experience each night for sure. The ports of Cozumel and Falmouth, Jamaica were amazingly beautiful and the shore excursion we took in Jamaica was out of this world good, definitely sign up for the Dunn's River Falls and Bamboo Beach Club tour. Hopefully you'll get the same guide that we had, she made the trip really interesting and had lots of history in her presentation.

Great experence by CharlesWShirey

I even meet a girl that I had my Senior dates with back in class of 1952 Greenville Texas on the boat.  What chance would that ever happen.  I meet another girl from Georgetown Texas that was a honey to visit with she also had a friend Angle that was also a very sweet person.  Sure enjoyed their company on the cruse.  Loved the cruse.  I was on their to get to scuba dive and did just that at each of the three ports.  I got to do two dives at each of the ports.  Wonderful experience.  I am not a night person so I did not hoop up with any girl as I was their to dive and like to go to bed at 8 of 8:30.  Some of my friends at the coffee shop where I drink coffee at 5:00 AM could not believe that I did not hook up with some one.  Charles W. Great Cruise, Food Not So Great. by ehrhardtgreg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

About average embarkation and disembarkation.  Ship is super clean and just back from refurbishing.  Employees very friendly and always cleaning and offering hand sanitizer.  Cabin was nice balcony and our steward (Cermelo) was very attentive and made great towel animals!!  Food in the Windjammer was always adequate and plentiful.  Fabulous meal in Sabor and would recommend to all.  But the main dining room was way less then expected.  We have been on over twenty cruises and this one had the poorest dining room food....that may be our taste because we traveled with another couple and they enjoyed the dining room.  Other then the desserts we found nothing else to our taste or liking and the service was poor at best.

The ports were great...Costa Maya was a long walk off the dock (mobility problem), but the Salsa and Salsa excursion was lots of fun and gave us some beach time (if you want).  Honduras and Cozumel were full day island tours with guides that were fabulous....a must do if you have been to any of these places before....

Overall we would recommend this cruise and in fact have scheduled a return with our grandkids in June 2017.

Lovely Cruise by pearlmm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

In spite of it's large size, Liberty gave us the feel of a smaller ship.  We were able to meet the rest of our party easily.  We were pleased with MY Time Dining and the food served.  The Ice Show and the headline production of Saturday Night Fever were amazing and are a must see.

Safe Problems by msdix50

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The best part of our cruise, was our waiter Leonardo, in the main dining room. We also enjoyed the casino.

The ship needs a lot of improvement on training their housekeeping staff, and their  maintenance department. There was trash behind our door when we entered our room, all of the mirrors in our room were dirty. The room was not vacuumed when we entered the room. We had to call for maintenance 7 times, 6 of those on the safe in our room, once because the toilet overflowed, (with nothing in it). Per maintenance it was a problem with the float. The overflow problem, maintenance reponded quickly. Not so on the safe problem.

A great time with 3 wonderful ports by sonjanorman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

The ports were our favorite out of 9 cruises. In Costa Maya we went to Blue K..... a nice beach you can hang out for free, just buy drinks and food. Roatan our FAVORITE, we went to the Iguana Farm and to see the monkeys, parrots and the sloth. It was amazing. In Cozumel we did an all inclusive an NachiCocum. The ship was very nice. Food was good not great. Had better food last year on Carnival. It seems RC is trying to nickel and dime you on many things that I had not seen in the past. All in all it was a great vacation. The excursions with were cheaper and had some that you could only find with them ( the iguanas and monkeys) because they could only handle small groups.

Had a great time. by mebobh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

Loved the balcony in cabin 6248. Loved to go out there first thing in the morning before getting dressed to go out in public. Also just before going to bed. Bed was very comfortable and room darkening drapes kept out excess light. Room was very quiet. Attendant did a very good job of keeping everything clean for us. Quality of food in included restaurants not up to expected quality but was good considering having to feed 4,300 quests. Desserts left something to be desired. Most were unrecognizable. Chops Grille was excellent. That was included in our package deal. Would definitely recommend this cruise if you don't have high expectations for the food. Food service was impeccable.

Great Experience! by stefanos186

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall great cruise ship, not too big and not too small.  Staff and crew very well organized and there was plenty of things to keep you occupied on your vacation.  Would definitely recommend Liberty of the Seas since it was refurbished earlier this year adding on some great new features to the boat.

Liberty of the Seas by eballard

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I do not have a favorite since everything was excellent.

Yes, I would recommend this cruise to my friends. The food was very good except the sushi lunch needs improvement. It is very small...and not too much to choose from.

I was very disappointed with concerning the "promised bonus" of

$50.00 to be use on board. After getting help from the customer service on the ship, I was told by the representative of that I did not fill some questionnaire??????etc.???.Well, to the best of my knowledge I did everything that I was told to do by the agent Ray. I hope will refund to my account the $50.00  according to the rep.I spoke with over the phone.

Liberty of the Seas customer review by azalea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There were too many people on this cruise. We were consistently herded like cattle especially when getting on the ship and getting off in Galveston. The process for initial boarding was lengthy and depersonalized. We had to wait a long time for the elevators and eating at the Windjammer was chaotic-people going in all directions; we sometimes had difficulty finding a table. However, the dining room staff were very friendly and helpful, especially for the evening meal.
