Review summary

Great family trip with plenty of activities if you have kids!

Embarkation

Overall, embarkation went well. A bit of a wait which the more seasoned cruisers told us was longer than typical. We weren’t worried about it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was the best. I ate almost every beef entrée offered and not one was a disappointment. My wife enjoyed most of the seafood options. Shrimp cocktail every night was great! Huge compliments to Ferdinand and Bryan at table 750! They were awesome with our kids and had them entertained. We also loved Sorrento’s for pizza and cold salads. That was the kids favorite along with the ice cream on the pool deck. Windjammer was not our favorite, but it didn’t matter as we made ourselves at home in the dining room and Sorrento’s!

Café Promenade

Always open and great for quick bites.

Windjammer Marketplace

Good options, just not quite what we wanted.

Sorrento's Pizza

Best of all!

Onboard Activities

With kids, the Adventure Ocean Programs were perfect. Also loved Splash Away Bay and the putt putt course!

Liberty Dunes

My son’s favorite.

Children's Programs

Aquanauts was great for my son. He enjoyed everything. Our daughter went to Royal Babies and Tots. The program is good, it was just a bit too geared for babies. She is almost 3, so the Aquanauts program would have been more of her taste.

Adventure Ocean

This was great! Kids loved every minute.

Service and Staff

Ferdinand and Bryan in Main Dining were superb! David, Stateroom Attendant, was great as well.

Cabin / Stateroom

It was tight quarters for 4, but it worked. We wanted the dark room to help our kids sleep. Plus the balcony room made us a bit nervous as well with kids.

Ship tip

Do all of the paperwork ahead of time to save time at embarkation, get as much of the main dining room as you can (breakfast, lunch), have the Royal Caribbean app (need to stay on ship time!)

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Our favorite port mainly because of our excursion. Loved the Daniel Johnson Sloth and Monkey Hangout!

Galveston, Texas

We are Texans so we are biased... love Galveston.

Disembarkation

It took about 10-15 minutes to go from our room to being on the shuttle back to parking. We did self carry and were in the first group to disembark. Extremely smooth and organized.
