Review summary
We loved our cruise onboard Liberty of the Seas. The ship and the entertainment was great. The food in the main dining room was good although I would have liked to have a better variety. It seems that the first few nights there were fewer things I preferred and the last few nights there were a lot of things I preferred on the menu. We ate in Chops one night and the food was incredible. The lunch buffet was better than what I had in the buffet in the past. The ports of call were good. When sailing out of Galveston there are not a lot of options. I wasn't intrigued with the excursions that Royal Caribbean had to our ports of call but I used some outside vendors for that. Mainly shore excursion group recommended by . The first excursion in Cozumel was a jeep safari ride to Isla Passion. The jeep ride was fun going through the jungle off road to a beach to catch a boat to Isla Passion. My wife didn't like the jeep ride but loved the island and my daughter thought the ride was ok and the island was great. Isla Passion was a secluded island just off of Cozumel. In the future we will probably go back but we will take the boat twister. The beach had the inflatable water toys and trampolines. They had hammocks both in the water and on the beach. I had about a 3-4 foot barracuda swimming around me while I was lounging in the hammock but he didn't bother me. We all got massages at the beach which were very nice and much less expensive than the ship.
Grand Cayman was next and we rode jet skis out to swim with the stingrays. This was fun but the water was a little rough and made it for a long ride with water constantly splashed all over us and into our eyes even though we were wearing sunglasses. Once out to the sandbar where the stingrays were we got off our jet ski and our guides caught some stingrays and explained some things about the stingray. Our guide actually put the barb into his mouth like a tooth pick. He explained about the stingray and then let us hold it to get pictures and kiss it. We were also allowed to feed the stingrays which float over your hand and suck the squid out of your hand. They can suck really hard. We then went to rum point for a break for about 20 minutes and then we went to starfish point and back to the starting point. The guides said it wasn't as rough that morning and the trip back was much better as it wasn't as rough. I highly recommend the stingrays although I'm not sure I would ride the jet skis as the trip was very rough and it was hard to see with all of the ocean salt water drenching our face. We did have better interaction since there were only 7 of us compared to a lot of people on the boat.
Our last trip was whitewater rafting in Jamaica. It was not an extreme white water rafting but more of a relaxed white water rafting. Our guide while young was very experienced in the nature around the river and with guiding our inflatable raft. The rapids were enough to keep us going most of the time and we didn't have to paddle very long or very hard to keep us going. We stopped at a point and were allowed to jump off from a plat form into the water. We then had a small boat hook up to us and pull us around to the beach where we got out. Our guide told us about different things along the trip and we stopped at a few places to get out and look at things she showed to us. She then asked us if we wanted to go shopping or go back to the port and some replied go shopping. We stopped at a small store that had some t shirts and rum tasting along with some other things. We got a 40% discount but it was still about $10 higher for the rum crème than what we could get back at the port.
Overall it was a great cruise. Great ship, good food, great entertainment, and good service. It seems that the food is not as good as I remember it on my earlier cruises but it wasn't bad food. Ever since they have added the specialty dining the food has been not as good in my opinion. I would do this ship and itinerary again just not anytime soon as I want to go different places. The excursions Royal Caribbean offered were not things I wanted to do so I looked outside the ship for excursions and I was pleased with the things I did.
We were in a Grand Suite which we love and I enjoyed the suite lounge in the evening. Also pretty much no waiting in almost everything we did because of the suite.

Ship tip
When disembarking you can save some time in line if you get a porter to haul your luggage out. We were in the first line and they were allowed to skip the first line and go to the second line. When you get in line there you have one more line to get to customs and then you are out to catch your shut

We had s great time. This was our 6th cruise and we've done a lot on them so as we get older we are more in to just relaxing and no phones or emails. I booked the excursion off a different website. All of my excursions were booked through another group. I tried to post the name. I'll try again. Cruise shore excursions. If you can't find it Google excursions in Cozumel or Isla Passion in Cozumel.
