Review summary
Our itinerary was affected by hurricane Earl. While RC did a good job keeping us safe and gave us an alternative destination (Nassau, Bahamas) and refunded paid for excurisions, there were not enough shore excurisions available to go around on short notice. So a walkthrough of the Atlantis resort was all we could get. What a waste of time/money! The immediate area around the port is very depressed and looks unsafe, so we went back to the ship. Liberty is a very nice ship - very clean and lots of good entertainment, pools, etc. But the main dining room food & service was poor. The buffet was much better! Sabor mexican restaurant was GREAT! Only found 2 bartenders worth anything on the whole ship - good thing we had the drink package, many drinks weren't drinkable. Most staff appeared tired but they got up for the shows in the promenade. Too many shopping sales - clogged up the promenade. First trip on RC - a little disappointing but we will give it another shot - but NOT from Galveston. Port facilities are another story!

Ship tip
Get trip insurance, check weather, buy drink package (its hard to find good bartenders who know what to do). Try Malcom in the Hoof & Claw (for chocolate almond martinis) and Joey in Sky Bar for pinacoladas with Meyers rum.
