Review summary

We have taken 2 other Christmas cruises and we truly enjoy them. This is a great way to spend time with the family. The Liberty of the Seas is a great ship. We  enjoyed the flo-rider, the Promenade deck designed like a small street, and  the outstanding nightly shows. Our favorites were the flying and the skating.

We had impeccable service-

the deserts disappointing-

Better communication needed about tours etc. The next day activity sheet came  too late to be helpful. The week's overview posted a week before the cruise on the internet, including the shows, special activities ( 60's, 50's night, # formal nights, which most formal,  etc.) would help families plan on- ship activities ahead and help in packing.,

The internet was the worst ever!! You paid a lot for slow, spotty service that was useless . NO on staff person to help at the computer station and no refunds

Overall- wonderful vacation  .

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

deserts needed help- line too line for omelets- watered down orange juice. love the small restaurants included in the price for more variety.

Entertainment

some of the best ever seen on a cruise ship. first class all the way. Amazing flying act with great choreography, and first class skaters on real ice. We could never find ice rink open for us to skate, however.

no experience with this.

Service and Staff

we loved out server at the early dinner-table 405. Also kudos to the maître Dee who helped us move our dining time after sailing and accommodate us when the special shows conflicted with our eating time.

Cabin / Stateroom

the maid was always available when needed. loved the towel animals. The shower was always hot. A very large person could never fit into the shower. I do not know how you handle this problem.

Ship tip

the first day there should be a general orientation about the procedure for excursions. If there was one-- it should have been better publicized on the T.V. - we wasted time going up to the pool deck to get towels when they were at the exit pt.- water should be provided free with each excursion

Thank you for posting your review. Cost cutting to maximize profit has probably led to use of chocolate-flavored versus actual chocolate ingredients. . . sad.

Glad to see that a few downsides did not ruin your entire cruise.

Pretty good review. Like you, I was greatly disappointed by the desserts on this ship. The chocolate was some brown-colored tasteless goop and nearly all the desserts lacked flavor. Most of the desserts made with fruit were pretty edible but the baked goods--the pies, cakes etc.--mostly awful. Just because it's sweet doesn't mean it's good. We stuck to the Cupcake Factory for the good stuff. Also agree with the quality of the ice show. Those Russians sure can skate.
