Review summary
Ship was gorgeous, dining room food was great, entertainment was phenomenal, LOVED the promenade, ship took our breath away from the beginning, cookies were AMAZING!! Staff wasn't as friendly or attentive as on carnival surprisingly. Only other possible complaint: royal doesn't have "real" food options available for long enough during the day. Windjammer not functioning way too much of the day. To be beat out by carnival in this respect? Kind of pathetic. Carnivals buffet was way better. Weird, I know. Cruises we've now been on.... ranked: 1. Liberty: RC 2. Imagination: carnival 3. Majesty: RC Bucket list in order: 1. Norwegian (breakaway, getaway or epic to try the food options) 2. Princess (regal or royal) 3. RC (allure or oasis) And no more short cruises or small ships for us: you need more time to unwind than four days at least, and if you're going to spend the time and money to get there etc, it's not worth it if the ship doesn't have the wow factor. My ideal cruise: one on a cool ship like the liberty that JUST goes to the private islands.....because those are amazing, and you can't beat going ashore where everything is free!!!!!!!Ship experiences
