Very child-friendly, except for where you would expect it...

This is a short cruise. The service onboard was exceptional. I was traveling with young children and it seemed every crewmember made an attempt to engage the children...everyone except the actual childsitters they have onboard at their drop in daycares, who seemed like they wished they could be anywhere else. We dropped my 3 year old niece at their daycare for 30 minutes. She enjoyed the toys, but the supervision was minimal. While we were watching, another child yanked her toy out of her hands and threw it into a bin. Neither worker said or did anything about this. They didn't smile at all during our encounter with them. The other drawback on such a short cruise is that you have to tender on one of the 2 ports. Tendering is a time consuming process, so for a short cruise, it ate into it.
There seemed to be a lot of waiting to embark and disembark from the ship - 3 hours wait on each end. The customs officers were blamed for the delay. Apparently there were only 17 officers available to process over 4000 people...standing around in the heat, the paramedics were called as someone passed out. It took over 2 hours before they started to ration out bottled water to the elderly.
