a decent cruise

Room Type: Inside

The ship was the largest on RCL that we have sailed on.. The staff was courteous as usual particularly our room attendant and the dining room staff. With the quick debarkation where you take your own luggage, some people (I guess who hadn't cruised a lot) complained about having to carry their suitcases down the stairs - isn't this expected on all cruises that the passengers are responsible from moving their luggage without crying to the staff they "didn't know....they couldn't use the elevator". These same people were allowed to utilize the elevator and went down to level 1 and were able to cut in line in front of many people. This is not a new type of departure program. Let's get with it and be more specific with instructions/expectations of the passengers before departure and clarify they are to "carry their bags" throughout this entire process and that the elevators will NOT be utilized.

Pros: Amenities the ship had to offer eg/ ice skating rink/Saturday Night Fever Production number was great..

Cons: Noise from below our cabin (dining room - kitchen area) for the first two nights. Even though customer service called to check on the 3rd night, we still got no sleep the first two nights.

Recommends Liberty of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Ship size, layout, public areas, cleanliness, and accessibility were all good.
Food and Dining
Food was mediocre, service from staff was excellent.
Cabin / Stateroom
Noise first two nights from kitchen area below us was unacceptable. We were aft on the 6th level.
Service and Staff
On the math contest, after the contest started, we found out afterwards that calculators were allowed (after some folks turned in their answer sheet and asked if calculators were permitted).. This was wrong and should have been detailed accordingly with the instructions prior to start of the contest. Calculators should not be allowed. We were very disappointed as most calculators can do most any math problem today.

On Labadee, we wanted to rent the large white/tan tents with "roll up sides" and was told they were $250. for the few hours we were there. We were told the blue sun canopys were" whatever the customer wanted to tip the employee". We didn't know what or who to believe and decided to rent neither. Things like this that happen time and time again, make me not want to get off the ship on the cruise line's "Private Island". :(
