Royal Cruise, Food quality Ok at best!

Sail Date: February 01, 2014

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was nice, but is starting to look a little beat up and uncared for. There are not too many things to do. It's more for old people who just want to sit all day and just ride the ship. Staff were friendly, but not as well trained as NCL. There were no quality standards or consistencies. The only excellent food on board was at specialty restaurants you pay for(Chops Grill). The ice show was excellent though, and we enjoyed watching a 3-d movie on the big screen. Ports of call: Cozumel was great, we rented a car and had a nice drive around the island checking out shops along the ocean. Belize was quite different, very poor area, and quite delapitated. Nothing to really do there unless you do an excursion. We did zip lining and cave tubing, really enjoyed it! It was nice views once we got out of town. Overall, had a great time, but would probably go back to NCL before trying any more cruises on Royal Carribean

Pros: Friendly staff, nice ship

Cons: Food was nursing home quality, ship had lots of sitting area(not for active people)

Recommends Liberty of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
Dining room was gorgeous, but food quality did not match it. Food was mediocre at best. Staff was friendly and attentive though.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a balcony room. It was quite nice.
Service and Staff
The staff tried, but they didn't do anything over ad above
Entertainment
There wasn't enough to do on board! There were too many sitting areas, who wants to just sit all day.
