WORST vacation EVER!!!

Sail Date: February 27, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Customer service, room attendants, staff, Food (SUPER Blan!) was aweful & NOT helpful, expect 1 guest relations person. She (Teeanna) was the only one who seemed to take pride in her work & was trying to help make things right. SHe followed up w/us even from her own cabin on her off time!
we felt the ship rock & vibrate the whole time, our room was a disgusting mess (dirt, dust, FOOD, crumbs all over the room, just under the bed & couch, totally visable!) we recieved only 1 night of turn down service, which all he did was fold the end of bed blanket. We were missing itmes we just purchased, maybe he thought we wouldn't notice a few packs of ciggarettes missing from the cartons, idk. our drawers were shuffled/riffled through. Room service not only took forever but the food was stale & just gross! We couldn't get internet (we had afree 1st 30 minutes, then .65 after...nvr got to login & again no one seemed to know how to help) Or TV didn't work, so we couldn't use 1/2 the features on it. i.e review our current charges, see upcoming events, activities, register for excursions etc..
Drink charges ALL varried (for the same drink!) throughout the ship. Restraunt dining was terrible, our head sever talked so low we heard nothing & wouldn't pause while talking so we could ask him to please speak up, food was not cooked as ordered(ordered a Medium steak, got a rare one...swear it was still mooing!
The whole cruise was just the worst experience we've ever had, we will NEVER take another Royal Caribbean cruise. They screwed up our whole Anniversay trip & just made it a nightmare. We should have been enjoying ourselves & having a great time instead of dealing w/ damaged luggage ( brand new bags, they tried saying it was the airlines, but since they were brand new, we inspected them upon retrieving them @ baggage claim, not a mark!) We get our bags after boarding the ship & HUGE tear in the big bag, scratches, scuffs, smaller tears around the edges, I mean c'mon really!
The excursion we paid for was for HEALTHY ATHLETIC, in general good health, min age for kids was 6 years old...we got grouped together w/ others who did NOT have the same excursion as us, (Dolphin encounter, where u swim w/them) There was lots of walking, & climbing. & theese othr ppl were not physically capable of doing the excursion. they had children w/ them under 4 years old. they kept letting their kid run off & not even bother to keep him w/ them. They could careless if someone kidnapped their son! Then they kep stopping to shop @ every building, forgetting that it wasn't only them on this excursion & we were already held up by them. The tour guy was a rude person, rushed us through lunch; we got all of 5 minutes to sit & eat! we didn't get to shop, yet the rest of us wanted to. The place we went took forever & charged an arm & a leg for pictures & a DVD of the swim, was terrible quality, no sound or our voices recorded, just some random "jamaican" music played in the background. The tour guide ppl just were actually mean to everyone. It was the 1st time we ever paid for an excursion....was 6 hours of nothing! over 1/2 of the excursion it self we didn't do or get a chance to see. Alot was based on these other people who were physically incapable of doing the excursion trip, so we did ALOT of waiting around for these guys & a pushy tour guide who seemed lost & confused the whole time!
we were even threatned by a local Jamaican vendor who gave us a gift then tried to get us to give him money, even BEFORE he even gave us this little wood statue, we had told him @ least 7 times "NO THANK YOU, we are NOT interested" & we kept walking, he pursued us & then handed it to my fiance, saying "this is a gift because you came to visit us here in Jamaica" then afterwards, tells us he's going to follow us to our tour bus & so we could "treat him right" & give him a tip. AGAIN we told him NO & we didn't want it.He then threatned us!

Pros: The days the sun was shining & that there was more pool areas on this cruise.

Cons: Nearly everything!!

Recommends Liberty of the Seas? No.

Ship Quality
Mostly it was good. public restrooms & other areas were not very clean or kept up enough. toilet paper, towels etc were all over. garbages full. deck towels all over. Hot tubs frequently out of use. dining tables (the buffet areas) most were dirty & not attended to.
Food and Dining
Wasn't impressed at all, food quality was poor, tasted blan/ no real flavor at all.
Cabin / Stateroom
Dirty room, we found food, crumbs & was very dusty(thin film was all over the room!), bed was uncomfortable, TV & Phone outdated, they also didn't work well. was nice though to have a message system...otherwise we would have never heard anything about our requests & the MANY problems we had onboard. NO toiletires...apparently thats only avail to those in the suites! oh wait we got a bar of soap. Location was terrible. our room walk was ALL the way down one side of the sip, just very inconveinant to getting to anything easliy.
Service and Staff
only ONE person went out of her way to try & help our ruined anniversary. The spa ppl gave us a 20% off "couples massage" the day AFTER we already had a couples massage & when we booked/reserved it online, it only gave us the 1st day as an option to have one done! PLUS we qualified for a spa treatment BUT I had to pay for it upfront & then instead of being refunded any money, it was just credited to our room account & even that was a huge issue. they kep sending us back & forth between guest services & talking w/ the spa manager....they were on opposite sides of the ship
