Good and Bad

Sail Date: June 20, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Suite

Because we chose "My Time Dining" we had to pre-pay our gratuties. Everyone certainly deserved more than the few pennies we paid them at the end of the week EXCEPT our "Head Waiter" Reuben. We actually had NO IDEA who this person was until he was later identified to us by our waitress. Although we saw him each and every evening in the dining room, he did NOT once stop at our table or say one word to us the entire week. As a matter of fact we did NOT see him interact with ANYONE except the dining rrom staff. And when we complained to Guest Services, they apologized but told us that because we pre-paid, he will absolutely receive his share of the money from each and every table. I would rather see my money going to the young men and women who emptied the trash cand and shined the railson the stairway. At least the acknowledged me every morning by simply saying "Hello." Reuben DOES NOT DESERVE ONE SINGLE DIME.

Pros: Overall a good vacation. However, as with anything, the more you add and the bigger you make it, something has to suffer. In this case the ship is absolutely big and beautiful, but I honestly feel that the level of service is well below that expected from the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

Cons: Pre-Paid Gratuities

Recommends Liberty of the Seas? Yes!

Children's Programs
The Liberty of the Seas should have a better organized teen program. Perhaps they can refer to the Carnival Cruise Line for some pointers.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica
The Tubing trip is over-priced and really a waste of time and money.
Don't Miss: Dunn's River
Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island)
Food wasn't great
Don't Miss: All the activities and excursions were pretty good.
George Town, Grand Cayman

Don't Miss: Stingray City
