Review summary

Excellent captain always advising us. Wonderful sights. However we booked ur own excursions beforehand not from Holland America. They were fantastic. It is probably a good thing because we could never get to the shore excursion crew. They were only open during eating hours or when a great show was going on so they REALLY need to be open more. There were four of them so they should ALWAYS be available.

Food was excellent but the waiters at all food venue need to be a little more personable. Some were downright surly. The Dive In by the pool was forever backed up. We do not mind waiting but they move like snails and were nearly snotty. Also, we had a table for two each night in the main dining room and were always placed right next to the servers station. RUINED THE LOVELY DINNER>>>>>>>

the World Stage was fantastic but the entertainment had a lot to be desired.

I agree with your comment on availability of the shore excursion staff. Hopefully you relayed your comments on the customer survey. We usually book our excursions in advance so this confirms that if booking through HAL, it would be better to book online in advance rather than wait until on board. Thanks for the info.
