Perfect short cruise for our first cruise ever. Entertainment was excellent and plentiful. While the facilities show their age, the ship's cleanliness and passionate crew members more than make up for it.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation went much smoother than expected.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Our first few nights we dined in the dining room, and were somewhat disappointed by the vegetarian options. Our 4th and 5th nights, however, we ate dinner at the buffet and were very excited about the numerous options available there for us.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Throughout our trip we utilized both the indoor and outdoor pool, as well as the fitness center.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I was quite impressed by the variety of entertainment throughout our trip as well as the quality of the performances. The comedian on our first night was phenomenal. Our only regret was being too tired from our travels to stay up for his late show.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every interaction with the service members on the ship was pleasant.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I cannot comment on the ship's layout as I have nothing to compare it to, but the common areas were very clean and orderly.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin itself was small but adequate for our needs. There is a small sofa in the room that served more of a table. We never sat on it, and it would have been better utilized as a table so we could store our bags underneath it. The bathroom is showing its age, but it was very clean. The bed was a little hard for our liking.
In the port itself, there are not many things to do. There are an abundance of options to get you to other areas where there is a variety of activities to explore like the Dolphin Experience we partook in on Balmoral Island. The walking tour was educational and allowed us to see parts of the city we would not have explored on our own. Aside from tourist shopping and restaurants though, the port at Nassau does not offer much.
We rented a Beach Cabana for the day which was a great way to get out of the sun and have a place to leave our things while we played in the water. My only complaint was that the bar closest to us closed up shop after lunch around 2:00. We did not have to return to the ship until 4:30. This left me wanting another beverage. Our attendant tried to get me a beverage from the next bar down the beach, but they did not have the ingredients necessary to make the drink.
