Great winter getaway

Sail Date: January 01, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Jewel of the Seas is a comfortable smaller ship where one doesn't realize there are over 2000 people on board. Even on the last day at sea when we're all there\, there are escape places available.

Pros: Discovery of the solarium\, spa\, and salon services

Cons: Cigarette smell in the casino through which one walks to get to the theatre

Recommends Jewel of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
My time dining this year allowed us to eat at our desired earlier times. The specialty restaurant\, Portofino\, we tried had good food and service\, with some yummy wine not available elsewhere on the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
Entertainment
The social director this year was not so engaging for us as last year; we only ever saw him on the next day's TV coverage. This perception might be influenced by the greater amount of My Time dining. The spirit of the cruise did not seem as energetic as the similar cruise on the same ship last year.
