Great First Cruise!

Sail Date: May 01, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

This was our first cruise\, so we didn't really have anything to compare it to\, except for \"The Love Boat\"! We were pleasantly surprised. There are multiple inclusive dining and snack options\, including what became a nightly occurrence- room service! The food in the dining room was comparable to a VERY nice restaurant and although we only had one \"formal night\"\, it was the perfect atmosphere to try out a new dress every evening. If you prefer a more casual dining experience\, the Windjammer was just great. Although a buffet\, the food was always fresh and delicious and there weren't long lines to contend with.
Aside from food\, there were other things to do. Activities such as \"Game Shows\"\, bingo\, mini-golf\, ping-pong\, billiards\, swimming\, etc\, allow for non-stop days if you wish. Or just relax on the deck on a lounge chair\, while looking out at the ocean.
Our favorite lounge became the Safari Lounge\, which located at the back of the ship. We would sit along the windows and watch the ocean as we sailed.
We would definitely do another cruise\, and wouldn't hesitate to sail with the Jewel again.

Pros: Delicious and plentiful food\, friendly staff\, 24 hour activities

Cons: smoking allowed in certain public areas (casino\, decks\, and specific smoking bars)

Recommends Jewel of the Seas? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
The only thing we didn't like is the fact that there was no daylight in our inner room. That made it very hard to wake up in the morning.
