We traveled on Jewel of the Seas. The ship was beautiful. We loved that you could see the ocean from almost anywhere. The accomodations were very well appointed. We had a balcony room which I think is worth paying extra for. Eating breakfast on the balcony was certainly a treat. Service was very nice. All employees on the ship were anxious to please. Food was fair. The biggest disappointment was the Teen scene. We specifically went on a cruise because we had heard that it's great for the teen age kids. We had 12-17 year olds with us. The 14-15 year olds seemed to find some friends, but the 12, 13 and 17 year olds were lacking things to do. I think the ship could have done a better job of having some planned activites that could potentially engage those age groups and encourage them to make friends. For example, a pizza dinner, teen karaoke, line dancing, etc.... The teen hangout room "Fuel" was small and did not offer much to do. The evening activities for adults seemed to be empty. We were out at 11:00 p.m. and most places seemed dead. We expected there to be more action in the evening. The main pool was also disappointiingly small for the size of the ship. It was also difficult to find pool chairs.

We did the power beach snorkel. Would have been great except there happened to be jellyfish out that day. Beautiful beach.

Did deluxe beach excursion. The place was very crowded and there was nothing deluxe about it. Nice beach.

Much nicer than expected. We did not do any excursions. Walked around and had lunch.
