One fantastic week on the Jewel.

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Inside

We had our first experience with Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Sea and it was great. Every inch of the ship was spotless and they were working very hard to control the spread of germs by placing hand sanitizer at the entrance to the restaurants. Our waiter was the best, his recommendations were always perfect. We tried to make reservations at the restaurants but they booked up the first day. I would definately like to return to Key West and Grand Cayman, but Cozumel and Costa Maya I could do without. Leaving the ship when it couldn't be docked was time consuming and disorganized. I'd say that was the only drawback of the cruise. We would definately take another cruise with Royal Caribbean and book through .

Pros: The food was outstanding and the ship didn't feel over crowded.

Cons: Disembarking using tender ships, it was unorganized and timeconsuming.

Recommends Jewel of the Seas? Yes!

Key West, Florida
Due to the windy and cold weather we couldn't go on the jet boat but we did take the trolly tour which was very informative. We went to the butterfly museum which was fun.
Don't Miss: Irish Kevin's seemed to be the best for live entertainment, we enjoyed it.
Cozumel, Mexico
We went to San Francisco beach and were told if we paid we could use all of the things in the water. Once we paid we were kicked off the climbing rock. We complained and did get our money back.
Don't Miss: We were not fans of Cozumel and would not want to return.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
We rented golf carts and went to the museum/beach outside of Fisherman's village. The beach was beautiful and we were the only guests. The place was very clean and the made the best margeritas and pina coladas. The stores at the end of the pier were very overpriced and I wouldn't suggest shopping at them.
Don't Miss: Rent the golf carts and go to the beach/museum it was a bargain and it was clean.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We went on the jeep tour and had fun. There are many places to shop and the jewelry is beautiful.
Don't Miss: The seven mile beach it is the most beautiful beach I've ever visited.
