An Awesome Week on a Cruise

Sail Date: February 18, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

This was our 1st cruise ever. We've been married for 32 years and now realize that this is what we'll be doing for many vacations to come. I repeat the staff on the ship was excellent, the food was top shelf, our ports of call were more than what we expected. We had an excursion in evey port that was greeted with very knowledgable
people. My wife was dead against cruising, but once we pulled up to the dock, she was in awe and it only got better from there. Now that we are home, my wife has not stop talking to our family and friends on what a wonderful time we had.

Pros: The professonalism of the crew staff

Cons: To much jewelery, jewelery, jewelery

Recommends Jewel of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
All I can say is "The Jewel of the Sea" is one classey lady.
What more can you say.
Food and Dining
I never eaten that well in years. The dining room staff pampered us night after night.
What a great group of caring profressionals.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were never in our room to notice except to sleep and shower.
Service and Staff
Our room was perfect. Our attendant ( Ramon ) was excellent.
Entertainment
We saw the shows every night and must say, they were as good as Broadway.
The music, activities were non stop all day long.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We had a tour guide take us all over the island. We got to see all points of interest, as well as the Billionare's dream of opening his own city within the island.
Don't Miss: The Rum Cake House with free shots all day long.
Cozumel, Mexico
Colors, everything has color. We shopped for a while and got really good deals on jewelery. Went out sailing on a cateraman, snokelled with tropical fish, and sat on the beach ,which was so awesome, then sailed back to the ship.
Don't Miss: Just walking the streets and admiring the people and bulidings.
Key West, Florida
Very nice ,a little over developed, I expected it to be less inhibited. Very clean, busy streets, full of tourists.
Don't Miss: The Harbor was beautiful.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
We took a bus to the Mayan Ruins with a guide named Dianna who is one of the 1st guides to work at the site. It was a vey interesting tour on the life our these natives. The terminal where the ships tie up was brand new as well as the shopping areas. We eat at a restaurant that was close to the out door pool, the food was great. People on the island are vey polite and accommodating. Great shopping
