Uneventful Cruise..

Sail Date: November 12, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was nice, but seemed un organized. Food was so-so, not a 5 star as expected. Portions were small & I had a bad experience with the food. The crew was unattentive, but waiters were fine. My stateroom attendant did not leave ice & towels as we asked. Solarium was nice, but everyone wanted the one small pool on the ship...too crowded. Boarding was fine & we did Express departure which was good. Not sure if I'd do another Royal Caribbean again.

Pros: The Jewel of the Seas was beautiful & the weather great....

Cons: Windjammer was too small & food was bland & not cooked at times....disappointed!

Recommends Jewel of the Seas? No.

Ship Quality
Layout was good. The shops were small but it was easy to get around except for the elevators which were only on one side of the ship & never stopped when you wanted them. Took time to get up & down.
Food and Dining
Food was average & small portions. I had a bad experience. Served RAW sausages & TWICE found dead flies in my food.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was OK...the norm, but did seem smaller. Needed a few more drawers.
Service and Staff
People were friendly...but nothing special.
Entertainment
Not enough activities for teens....rock climbing was it.
Children's Programs
Not enough activities for kids....
Cozumel, Mexico
Big difference from last year. They did a great job repairing the port & shops. Everyone was nice & organized...so were the trips.
