Fabulous Five Days!

Sail Date: September 01, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This ship was very well conceived in so many ways...from the gracious interior design to the flow of rooms, to the idea that you could participate in activities or enjoy peace and quiet. It never felt crowded and you could always find an area to be on your own should you choose. The staterooms were so quiet you couldn't even hear your neighbors or people in the halls. The food was truly gourmet and the waitstaff in particular made each and every meal a special occasion.

Pros: The food, the graciousness of the staff, the beauty of the boat and the feeling of great space

Cons: having to leave!

Recommends Jewel of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Impeccably clean with great attention to detail throughout.
Food and Dining
Quality of food was wonderful, the Tides Dining Room was elegant and brought you back to an earlier era --- it had a European feel to it.
Cabin / Stateroom
We still cannot get over the built in storage space throughout the cabin! Whoever thought this out was a genious! Loved having the deck which was spacious and a wonderful place to sit and relax --- we kept our door to the deck open each night to sleep to the sounds of the ocean waves lapping against the ship. What a treat that was!
Service and Staff
The staff bent over backwards in every way to try to please and accomodate everyone. It was so refreshing to feel catered to with no attitude! The staff were very clever in how they performed above and beyond without your ever being aware of them.
There were enough activities if you wanted to participate --- we liked the shows in particular which were first rate, especially the Argentinian show with the tango dancing! Wow! The broadway style shows were terrific too!
